Solid flick. A bit cheesy with the callbacks and the first act was a little slow but one of the more insane third acts I can recall in a while.

7.5/10 for me.

What did yall think?

I know Alien Covenant isn't a popular movie on here, but how does Romulus compare to it?

I liked covenant btw.

The problem with Prometheus is they didn’t tie it as directly as they should have to the Alien movies. The first treatment of the script is much better and makes a whole lot more sense.

Covenant pissed me off so much, I’m sitting this one out.

I lived Prometheus.

Therefore I loved Romulus.

Fun movie. Predicted the WTF moment at the end. DID NOT predict what exactly that thing would end up being. If you Know you Know.

I really liked it. I liked all the nods to the other Alien movies, particularly the first two. Even a few nods to the Alien Isolation video game (which is freaking awesome).

It's not perfect but it's a solid movie. Not a whole lot of jump scares but there are some.

It's better than Alien 3 and Covenant (and I liked both).

I'm glad they used practical effects for the Aliens instead of going overboard with CGI.

If I had to give my order of preference, it would be:

Aliens
Alien (these two are interchangeable)
Alien Romulus

Alien 3

Covenant

The rest.

Did anybody else think the lighting of the movie was too dark? I understand the location.

In some parts, yeah but it really was only that way in the first act or so…for me at least.

Did anyone else have a hard time understanding some of the British accent guy’s dialogue?

Way to reveal to the board that you do not think for yourself.

prometheus (and covenant) briught something that is missing from every other alien film, including the original...a deep, unsettling weirdness of story, setting, and atmosphere that makes it utterly unique. a better plot (in spots) would have made prometheus an all time classic.

My son has only seen Alien and Aliens. Does he need to see any of the others before seeing Romulus.

I think seeing Prometheus would help but I dont think it's necessary as long as he's seen the first two. Seeing Prometheus might help make some things later in the movie make a little more sense but they kind of explain it in the movie anyway. He should be fine

Thanks. Will try to squeeze in Prometheus before seeing it but if not, will press on.
