Cars most likely to reach 250,000 miles: Toyota, Honda, Chevy, and GMC dominate the list

Spoiler alert: Trucks are more likely to reach 250,000 miles according to this list, and Toyota truck models in particular do very well. If you are partial to domestic car companies - go with Chevrolet. The Chevy Suburban and Silverado are in the top 10 and quite likely to reach 250,000 miles when maintained properly. Honda's Ridgeline pickup also makes an appearance in the top 10.
Rounding out the top 15 are other GM trucks and two additional Honda models: The GMC Yukon XL and Sierra pickup, the Chevy Tahoe, Honda Pilot, and Honda Accord are also clearly safe bets.
American and Japanese cars make up the entire top 30 list. Nowhere in the top 30 list will you find a Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Volvo.

I’ve driven three cars in my life. All Chevrolet and they were all great.
I miss my 04 avalanche. That thing was a tank and it didn’t have that ugly plastic on the bottom like most avalanches
Sold that avalanche to a family friend as it was around 280,000 miles and he still drives it today.

I've got a 17 yr old daughter driving an Accord with 105k. I'd say that thing doesn't have a 16.6% chance to make it to 250k
I just ran the math, and unless my driving habits change, it would take me a little over 31 years to put 250k on a vehicle these days.

BMW used to make super reliable cars 25-30 years ago. They are lucky to make it past 120,000 miles these days.

The research says the Tundra is better, but that could be because the Land Cruiser wasn’t sold here for several years.

Funny thing is that I have had several go well over 200k. Only one was traded in because of an issue and it was a weird electrical problem. The rest were traded in stool in great running condition.

The highest mileage gas vehicle I’ve seen was a Chevy Suburban. IIRC, it had the 5.3L V8, a completely trashed interior, and nearly 500,000 miles.
Suburbans are consumer grade, but just barely. They are a Silverado truck underneath.
I’ve seen a lot of HD trucks and those old school Chevy and Ford vans with 300k+. There are a lot of examples of the diesel GM trucks with over 1,000,000….although none probably were from the years where they used the Bosch CP4 injectors.
I’ve seen high mileage Crown Vics and Toyota Camrys too. Cab duty can really frick up a car.

how is there a noticeable difference between the Silverado and the Sierra?
mechanically they're the exact same truck.

I’m hanging onto my Tacoma till I’m dead. Couple more months and it’s paid off. Love that truck.

I can't decide if I like the new ones yet. I'd never buy a 1st year model anyway. I might downsize to a mid sized with my next truck.

Had an '04 Colorado. Had that truck for 13 years and got to w/in 800 miles short of 300K and the tranny gave up the ghost. I was heartbroken. I loved that truck and it's been the best vehicle I've ever owned.

I had a Honda Accord. Bought it new (only 51 miles), traded it in for a pickup at 273K
