Why don't we eat soup for breakfast?

I mean, there's breakfast pizza, breakfast burgers, cake for breakfast, breakfast pie.

There's breakfast biscuits, breakfast burritos, breakfast casseroles.

Where's the breakfast soup?

And don't get me started on cereal being a soup.

Now, we could go down old oatmeal road, but that way lies madness.

That's the look of a man who has some bodies hidden beneath his outhouse.

We should bring soup for breakfast back into fashion. They used to have porridge, or pottage. Which was basically pease and veggies and meat cooked the night before.

I say we embrace last night's soup, chili, gumbo as tomorrow's breakfast. Hot or cold it's better the next day.

Until we can figure out a proper breakfast soup.
Bacon, egg, maybe some white gravy and grits.

It's a shame soup for breakfast isn't widespread.

What if you pour hot coffee in your cereal?

My favorite breakfast foods are grits and bacon. I crumble the bacon on top.

I've had soup for breakfast.

I've also had gumbo for breakfast hundreds of times. Travel too far away from these parts and they all believe gumbo is soup.

Soup is gross and a waste of time.

Edit. I thought this was the ot, my apologies, but honestly I don’t care for soup.

I don't like your stance on a borscht shun.

Some people love soup but I just see it as the Wish or Temu version of stew. It is the one broad food category I avoid whenever I can.

I have soup for breakfast often, men seem to eat soup the most. Course I have catfish and okra for breakfast all the time too.

The seasoning in your soup kinda looks like a butt or a pair of titties. I'd say more like a butt though

Vietnamese Pho is considered a breakfast meal. The old school Pho places in New Orleans all used to open around breakfast time, and I'd occasionally go - it's good for hangovers especially. you'd always see a bunch of old Vietnamese men having their regular breakfast.

Most have stopped opening so early, though.

I'll go to Dang's in the morning some times (they open at 8) and have Pho for breakfast. Delicious

Many other cultures do eat soup for breakfast. Here is a good article written by a korean american

quote:

In many places outside of Western Europe and North America, a bowl of soup is how many kick-off a busy day. It can be tart and hearty, like in Ecuador, where hangovers are cured with encebollado de pescado, a tuna soup with pickled onions or curtido, tomatoes and cilantro. In Burma, mohinga, a catfish stew that balances salty, sweet, spicy and sour in the depths of its rich, muddy, turmeric-laden waters, is the morning meal de rigeur. In Vietnam, piping-hot pho is on the menu, whether it’s 20 or 35 degrees Celsius outside. In Japan, bowls of miso soup are not uncommon at the breakfast table.
