Are they not able to influence their peers if and when that happens?

It's all just so over the top at this point, I can't believe there aren't people sitting back and thinking, this is all really a bit too much to fully accept.

Is it actually realistic to believe that they can keep pushing this hard at this level and there will never be any backlash?

Most older people are so intent on watching "the news" that that is their only form of information. In this case, misinformation.

Only when you branch out from the news on your own can you get red pilled.

A lot of the people that you're talking about, are bubble people. Anything from outside their bubble sends them running for their safe space.
Their bubble is full of the same kind of thoughts that they themselves are programmed for.
Any independent thought interferes with the signal from the hivemind.
So yeah, these kinds of people soak it up like a sponge.

There's several layers to this, but the biggest one is psychological: Most people (especially boomers & Z's) don't want to know they are being lied to by the people who are "in charge". That is uncomfortable and unsettling. So you get an entire swath of the population that just makes themselves believe whatever they are told, even when basic human intuition makes you at the very least suspect something's not right with what youre being told / hearing on the news.

Questioning what you see and hear makes you actually have to accept the possibility of being lied to, and then acknowledging that the lies are coming from a place that you were raised to believe is inherently mostly good (Gov't), or at least neutral (the news).

I'd argue that those who claim to be pilled (red blue or coconut), have just given into the algorithm, and have abandoned any chance for independent thought.

Perhaps.

Of course, I've made no such claim.

All good. I wasnt replying to you.

I am interested in your OP though. Could you define some of those pronouns (no joke) to what you are referring. I wasnt sure what you meant by pushing this hard at that level. but i havent lurked in a long long long time, so i am not up to speed on the terms around here.

Not many, particularly women. They buy this stuff completely and can’t wean themselves off The View/ NPR/ CNN whatever it is they listen to that imbues them with the patina of intellectualism. They are “ safe world “ theorists, unable to see or care where we are headed and happy to gobble this shite up.

Some do and have. I know a few who have come around since COVID. But most don't. But most trust mainstream network news and newspapers etc. as the "real" and "factual" media... everyone else on social media and YouTube, podcasts etc. are "conspiracy theorists" and "extremists."

We have this thing, that like so many other things, the far left has radicalized and weaponized.
Constitutional freedom of the press.

That, in itself is a good thing. How they are using it, is not. He who controls the information, controls the masses.

So until somebody comes up with a constitutional way to fight to fight this kind of media, no... they will not face repercussions.

I'm convinced that a majority of the ignorant are willingly so. They will defend the MSNBC stories to the end and if they are provided proof of any of these stories being lies - they will exit the conversation and mentally scrap the new found knowledge that is counter to their doctrine.

It is easier to believe that we are not heading for civil war than it is to mentally prepare for the death of ourselves and loved ones.

The change comes from having a vested interest in the outcomes of the economy in general and in Americana continuing in some fashion.

People who are not connected to the traditional religions, or responsible for a nuclear family, or not connected to the market economy, or property owners are far less likely to be invested in the success and enablement of these institutions. Aka - democrats.

Not until they are ready. I speak from personal experience.
Think about it. People don't admit truths until they are ready to do so themselves. A person has to SEE it themselves. You can show them and make the most logical conclusions for them, until an individual makes that connection on their own........

The MSM is the biggest threat to American democracy today. We grew up watching the news with our parents, believing it was trustworthy. It's not. It wasn't then, but exponentially not now. The people who depend on the MSM are mostly those living in the 477 counties that Biden won and not in the 2497 counties that Trump won in 2020.

Well David Horowitz was a young communist and then the commies murdered his girlfriend. But that's not gonna happen too often.
There was also that beautiful blonde lefty journalist (can't remember her name) who dated Anthony Weiner and then her lefty friends started treating her like dirt when she became a Christian.
It takes a big shock for them to change.
