This is what NATO forces want in case Trump wins. They are trying to make it as difficult as possible for Trump to facilitate peace.

That's the tragedy of the whole Ukraine debacle. The American government has pushed war with Russia so hard there's no turning back. There is no good grace left.
Biden/Obama have pushed things past the point of repair. The Ukrainian people are the ones paying the price. Zylenski has sold out his nation and its people.
This all could have ended weeks after the invasion, but Obama/Biden told Zylenski he couldn't do the peace deal.

You do realize that the world doesn't revolve around Trump, right?
Putin wants Trump to win because Trump's base wants him to stop aid to Ukraine. There will not be peace until Russia or Ukraine decide to stop fighting or one is destroyed. Both see this as an existential fight. They're not going to put down their weapons because an American President talked rough to them but didn't back it up with force.

Russia (not just Putin) told the entire world ... over and over and over again ... that Ukraine (and/or Georgia) to NATO would mean war. It was the red line. Biden (aka Jake Sullivan) thought it would be cool to poke the Russian rattlesnake.
