Cut my grass today and was kicking up clouds of dust. Don’t see any rain in the forecast in the next week or two. With this heat, going to be rough. I remember 2 or 3 years ago we had a rough one.

That was last year right? The heat dome that killed pretty much everything.

Should’ve been in Louisiana last year. No rain for 3 months.

Last year was bad.

With the excess of rain we got a few weeks ago, we aren't near a drought.

Dry, yes. Drought, no

The exception would be a flash drought setting in. If temps were to jump up comparable to what LA saw last year, a dry stretch sets in, and the humidity levels dropped daily, what is known as flash drought could develop. That's harder to predict, though.

Last year we didn't get rain for a month. It was also what kept hurricanes away. I haven't gotten a drop of rain in about 15 days and my grass is pretty bad off. Will take this over hurricanes though

In the mid south/delta yes not in south LA

It’s always hot and humid but we usually don’t get into high 90s/100s and normally have 2-3 days a week with afternoon showers

The afternoon showers is what has been missing. Last year my grass died died. Guess I'm going to have to try to keep if from suffering the same fate this year.

I’m probably a couple hundred miles east of you but it seems like we got exactly one hour of rain every single day this summer
