What is the best way to utilize Josh Williams this season in your opinion?

If Kaleb Jackson is becoming our next Leonard Fournette then he will probably get the lion’s share of the carries this year at RB. That means Josh Williams will get fewer carries. While physically limited, Josh seems to be the ultimate walk-on. He’s a great teammate, he always gives it his all, he’s willing to pass block, and he’s probably willing to do anything you need him to.
Could he be used a lot on kickoff coverage this year?
Will he only be used to give Kaleb Jasckon a breather?
Will he be used in creative packages and take direct snaps at QB occasionally?
Will he be used as a fullback?
Will he be used as an H-Back and switch between fullback and tight end? I could see him catching passes over the middle and also throwing some nasty blocks on LBs and DBs if he takes a few snaps at TE each game.
He’s a good player and very unselfish. I think we need to find ways to still get him on the field. He’ll do the dirty work.

When you run hurry up he's the guy.

RB1b/ 3rd down back
He’s not big enough for TE/HBack or FB, but we could do some interesting things with a split back look at times IMO

He can run, catch, and block, so I would say third down back.

He is another coach on the field.
He is a tough kid that knows the offense…running and passing. Thus he will play the majority of the USC game. He has earned the trust of the coaches.

He'll have a role. He's an excellent blocker, good pass catcher out of the back field, pretty good in short yardage. I'm glad to have him back

3rd down back and he will be in on all obvious passing plays.

Passing downs mainly. Think Durham will take a lot of his carries away as the season progresses

The staff trusts him probably more than any other player on the team. Jackson will get several touches in every game, but Williams will be on the field more. At least to start the season, he’ll get at least 10+ traditional carries. He’ll be on the field for just about every obvious passing down.
Now Jackson may become a force that is simply too good to leave off the field similar to what Jeremy Hill did in the South Carolina game halfway through the season. But to start, this is Williams’s show

I think he’s being overlooked because of the shiny new toys, but he’s our most dependable back.
As I like to call him, Mocha Hester

Agreed, but generally speaking, pass protection is the last thing learned.

If we’re in obvious passing situations, it’s going to be Williams. Williams will be a big part of the offense
Durham I could see the staff working in a lot more of the 2 back looks we showed against FSU early on in the opening game to get him in the game without giving up Williams blocking and tough running
I would imagine Williams will be the back for when we go HUNH as well, which is very often.

Just keep him healthy. I’d use him about 33% of the plays, mostly passing.

I like him in the H-back role/concept. Good blocker and can be a good pass outlet or even a primaty target in a misdirection type play.

He will get reps through a game, especially in 3rd down and passing situations because of his experience and leadership.
Late in games, I can see him getting a few more reps to help salt away games. We all know he runs tough as hell for his size. After our OL and Kaleb lean on a defense all game, let him get out there with fresh legs late and help slam the door.

As.much as he has given he still has the talent of a walk-on. IMO with his experience he should only see the field as a receiver and blocker on obvious passing downs, because of his experience.
