This was leaked to media by FBI before end of day 7/14. So this is case of playing politics (opportunistic) and having to find supporting evidence later.

FBI got up there and mentioned this and then said they had not confirmed this was actually from Crooks, not ONE Republican Senator called him out on why FBI felt this information had any bearing on an attempted murder on the President who was discussing IMMIGRATION when shot…

In fairness, other than this weird, selective testimony about Crooks's social media, I thought Deputy Director Abbate was straightforward.
He was unequivocal about there being no doubt that former president Trump was struck by a bullet.

What factual information did he testify about that was specific, new information other than this false assertion? Seriously.

Fair enough. He got high marks for being unequivocal about the bullet. Other than that, he didn't add anything substantive.
I was particularly disappointed that he didn't describe (nor was he asked about) what "vehicle with explosives" did Crooks have at the rally. Was it a Hyundai Sonata, a white van, or both?
