All I posted earlier today about a survey where I’m trying to gauge new business ideas in Louisiana but it was removed.
Trying again!
Just looking for feedback from other boaters and fishermen in Louisiana on potential business ideas.
Please let me know if there is any issues! Also, If this isn’t allowed, I’m happy to work with the admins, etc!
If interested: PM me for link!

*Lifts/Dry Stack/indoor storage is typically cost prohibitive south of I-10 due to; codes, taxes, insurance if building new.
*Louisiana doesn't have enough boaters with a need to use these services, most of our boats are trailered and live at home.
*As a whole, many La boaters are pretty damn self sufficient when i comes to maintenance.
* See above on finding a fishing guide, this board is a great resource for finding out where the fish are biting or who to book a charter through.
*There is 1 mobile marine mechanic on Big Lake, 1 and Jake is hands down better than any mechanic at the dealers.
Unless you are a certified mechanic, have money to burn investing in property & permits (COA, Parish, State) and have years for pay back it's a long road to profitablity.

I just PM’d you. Did you get it?

i’ve been a builder/developer for 25+ years and a have fished all my life. i always thought that a condo association for boat storage may be feasable. it would have proper power to all “condos”, fish cleaning station with HOA regs, washdown bay or capability, etc. it would be HIGHLY dependant on the right location - as is all real estate.

Same. Apparently the dude doesn't want to reply and get ideas.

Spend a few million down in Cocodrie on Condos with boat storage. You'll make a killing.

Where can he find land for the condo near a water source, unless he builds on the backside of the canal, which wouldn't work out well with docking large boats.
Would cost a fortune, probably cost prohibitive to insure, and would take decades just to recoup your money.

It would take a lot of capital and some politicing, but boat slips on grand isle has potential. There is big money on the island now and launching a boat is a pain in the arse.
