I heard this the other day and the more I think about it the more it makes sense.

If you sign up for conscription, you should be allowed to vote. Otherwise, you dont get to vote.

Women now outnumber the amount of men who vote and legally do not have to sign up for conscription. Therefore, they can legally vote to start wars they will never fight. I believe that you need to have some sort of real skin in the game in order to vote. This also allows for equality among the sexes. Women who sign up for conscription are allowed to vote period. Even if they never see a uniform in their lifetime.

What is the Poli Boards opinion on this?

You should absolutely have some skin in the game to earn a vote, not just a heartbeat

The drafters of the 19th Amendment missed badly when they did not tie the franchise to eligibility for the draft.

Baby steps.

Can we focus on no benefits for non citizens, getting rid of the dept of education, and incentivizing the nuclear family as well as more conservatives to teach?

Pretty sure we wouldn't have to worry about half our problems with that.

Im more for not forcing things on people.

So dinr force me to pay for illegals, dont force schools to pass children who don't deserve it in order to keep funding, and dont force people who don't want to serve, to serve.

I would gladly give my life to serve in the Exxon Mobil special forces.

No. Military service should always be voluntary.

Voting rights are for adult legal citizens. Every voter must be validated prior to voting, and every vote must be validated prior to calling a race.

Why do so few men vote?

Congress starts wars. It’s extremely to dishonest to claim that every female voter is pro-war.

So both parents of small children must volunteer to go to war in order to vote? And you don’t see any potential problems with both parents of young children going to war?

Simple answer and solution : you cannot vote if you are receiving government benefits

Can quibble on the time etc but basically you don't get to vote to keep getting freebies from others

No idea. Maybe they feel disenfranchised?

Who elects Congress? (men and women)

I would generally assume an amendment to the US Sole Survivor Policy would happen.

I don't disagree with this in a vacuum where every vote is weighed equally.

I mostly agree with this with the caveat that the draft should only be for an actual armed invasion by another country (of our country).

Absolutely

I'd go further but this is the bare minimum

No one is talking about forcing people into the military

What we're saying is that if you want to vote, you need to register for the draft

I heard the same idea on TimcastIRL and think it's a good idea. All citizens who enjoy the liberty and freedoms of America should be willing to defend those liberties and freedoms.
Also, might change some peoples perspective.
Now that a person might be required to fight for the American flag, that person wouldn't be so quick to burn it or sit by and watch others do so.

Who is going to tell you?

I don't think my 20 years signed up for the draft has granted me any benefits that our actual service members have gained.

I disagree. Everyone should be subject to having defend the liberty and freedom of America. People having some skin in the game might change some attitudes about their personal "allegiance to the flag" if one day they might have to defend it.

Those idiots burning American flags don't understand the blood and sacrifice others paid so we could enjoy the liberty and freedoms of America.

I'm okay with that or:
-Passing the civics test required to become a citizen but instead of 7/10 to pass you need to get 75 out of the 100 on the list, AND
-Proof of paying taxes 2 out of last 3 years.
