Wife looking at a getting a new vehicle. Wanted something with a little more space to fit two car seats.

A lot of our fellow middle class friends were suggesting Tahoes. Cheapest trim is like 60-65k.

Why on earth would anyone spend that much on a vehicle and how are you affording it? I know you fricks are buying them, otherwise they wouldn't be 65k

There are youtube vids of car salespeople proud of their $1100/mo payments. Unbelievable

Just because they own them doesn’t mean they afford them.

It is rare that they actually get paid off and are owned by the consumer.
Trade it in and roll that shite into the next note.
My oldest son and his wife tried to get me to loan them money for a down payment last year so that they could get a "safe SUV" for the baby they were expecting.
After prying it out of him, I discovered that they wanted to go way upside down on one of those giant Infinity SUVs.
I said hell no, but I would buy them a used Sequoia outright.
They declined and are still pouting about it.

7 year loans bruh. That's how they are buying them. It's a terrible thing but it makes it possible

They don’t own them, the bank does.

Her MLM LLC writes off the note. Trade it in a couple yrs down the road when the taxman starts asking when the LLC is going to make any money.

Buy an old car from 2000, spend $2k on tools, do the work yourself. You'll save $50k.

Answer: be comfortable with debt.

My wife and I are both doctors and can’t pull the trigger on a 3rd row SUV because I just can’t get over the price.

She easily drives the least nice car of any of the doctors in her practice, and many of the nurses drive nicer ones than her. Heck, half the nurses in my office drive newer and nicer cars than I do, too. We aren’t quite to the “looming failure” stage in either of our cars, but I make myself sick about what the replacements are going to cost us in another 5-10 years, and I honestly don’t know how (or why) many people that own vehicles like this are buying them.

One of my family recently got a Honda Pilot and loves it. I would suspect it was less expensive than a Tahoe, so you might take a look at it.

This place is the exception where everyone pays cash. Most people however are just in incredible debt.
