If you tell rookie officers that they have to go toe-to-toe with N.O./Houston/Dallas/Jackson/Atlanta thugs armed with only a flashlight, how many applicants do you think they'll get? My agency pays 21 year old kids $75K in the academy and $100K in 5 years, yet nobody shows up to test. Do you really want to make that worse?
