Ram will never play another down for the Saints…..

He’s out for this entire forthcoming football season… and it’s official now.

His knee will only get worse with times… not better.

Rumor was Ram already began to lose significant weight to release pressure on his knee. Reported months ago but no one listened.

— Question:

—What is best way to pay off what he’s owed and best deal with his CAP number so it doesn’t cripple the organization ??

If only we (saints talk) had listened, this could been avoided.

The man made his money and had a good career. He has to walk for a lifetime.

What does this even mean? Everyone who follows the Saints knew last offseason that Ryan's knee issues were degenerative and his career was on the clock. This fact was well reported. They drafted a tackle 1st overall. Stop complaining for the sake of complaining.

They drafted Terron Armsteads replacement as funny as it is to say that.

Eat the cap elephant one bite at a time, like we usually do, or eat the whole cap all at once and rebuild

This is true and Fuaga may not work out but it disproves the OPs assertion that no one listened. It was obvious that Ram's career was likely over and the team made a contingency plan.

Unfortunately, Penning was drafted to be Armstead’s replacement. Just didn’t work out and he’s likely Peat’s replacement if anything.

Can the saints restructure the contract like Bobby B?

If it was not obvious last season, it should have been crystal clear whne they restructured his contract down to the guaranteed amount he had left on his deal. This move is purely for cap purposes. He will stay on the roster at the current year cap hit and retire next offseason, likely with a June 1 designation to spread the dead cap hit.

He’ll be PUP for the 2024 season then he’ll officially retire post June 1 2025 and that will be that.

I know we will probably draft anywhere from 8 to 18 and not have a shot at big Will Campbell.

He will do whatever it takes to help the Saints with the cap while he still eventually gets all of his money. Hell in baseball guys are signing more and more deals that pay them for 10 years after they retire. That’s how the Dodgers were able to pay Shohei Ohtani $750 million. The job is Penning’s to lose. He will have Landon Young push him if he’s healthy though.
