I don't own one. Should probably get one. Recent road rage thread aside,
have any of you been in a situation where you were glad you had it?

Couple live a million lives and not need one … but you could need one tomorrow

I try to avoid putting myself in situations where I think I'd need it. Luckily I've never had to draw it. I hope I never have to.

Yup, and you don't get to decide when you need it.

I own some, have the CC permit, and training.
That said, likely if there is a shooting, it would be over and done with by the time I could have my weapon out.

I have been lucky to never have needed to use it but I live by the axiom that "it is far better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it."

I’ve drawn mine twice and was ready to shoot. Glad I didn’t have to.

Looking for a job? I might know a government agency who will hire you (must be either female, nonbinary, biracial, transgender, indigenous, or person of color)

Every day.

Better to have one and need it than to not have one and not need it is what I always say.

Well, sure.
Thankfully not for a person threatening me or my family, but I killed a rattlesnake last year my son almost stepped on.
Most recently, we had a cow get down in the pasture that was too old and sick to get back on her feet. The vet came out and said there wasn't anything he could do, we were going to lose her. Instead of letting her suffer for who knows how long, I had to shoot her between the eyes.

A few times a month.
I pull in from work. There's an armadillo in the yard.
They used to be able to run away.

Always good to be strapped for the OT meet-ups. Some dangerous peeps in this place.

Twice. Once a crazy person knocking on my door and I was home alone. Once we came home late at night and realized our door had blown open and may have been open for hours. Felt safer having one than not.
