From UC San Diego. 85 strikeouts in 83 innings, 24 walks, 3.07 ERA
Pursued by Tennessee, A&M, Florida, Texas and LSU. Clearly a stud based on the programs that wanted him.

Not sure. But based on who wanted him it might not matter. Vitello wanted this guy, along with a lot of other elite baseball coaches.

Who pursued him means F all when SEC ball starts.

Baloney. Who pursued him is way more important than what his velo is. What was Aaron Moffett’s velo?

Well it really does matter. It’s a good indication of his ability at this moment in time. Nobody is a sure thing, but when you have a prospect being coveted by the best programs in America that usually does mean something relative to his ability to help our program

Has the lowest WHIP of any of the guys we were after in the portal. Control isn’t really an issue for him. Stud

91-94 with movement, but has touched 97 this summer. His curveball has M. Hilliard spin rate numbers. Has 2yrs.

How big of boom is this? Is he our next Friday night starter or something?
I haven’t followed much of the portal guys at all.

At this point, can anyone separate which pitchers are viewed as potential starters and which are viewed more as bullpen guys?

Greg Maddux had above MLB average velo for a large part of his career.

I did an approximation of that in the recruiting thread.
