Are kids harder to deal with from ages 2-4 or 12-14?

depends on how good of a parent you are. if you suck, they will suck, then make sucky children, and so on.

Bigger the child bigger the problems.

I wholeheartedly agree. They're wiping themselves, essentially feeding themselves, and you can generally convince them they're wrong when they are. When puberty hits, they're never wrong.

12-14 is way worse. Your parenting mistakes are amplified when they're at this age. When they're 3, they most likely won't remember your mistakes. As teenagers, your mistakes have much more serious repercussions.

the problems just change and become more complex as they get older. peak would probably be around drivers license age, imo. 15-17. lots of things to navigate as a parent

different type of hard. You have to be more present and active with younger kids because they will kill themselves on accident otheewise. 12-14 is more difficult from the standpoint that the parenting isn't as black and white.

For example, every parent in the world knows to tell a 2 year old not to eat dirt. How do you handle it when your 14 year old gets caught drinking? too harsh and they won't tell you anything, too light and they will think they can do whatever they want.

The harder it is from 2-4 the easier it is from 12-14.

allow me to disagree. if you see a kid running wild at 2-4 with zero discipline or respect due to soft parenting, that's gonna be hell when older and without having that instilled in them. Kids with discipline are hard enough at that age.

This is a great time for a parent. I knew it was a special time and I loved every minute of it.

I've heard it said that if your kids do NOT go through "the terrible twos" you're not off the hook bedause you will see it about age 12 and last throughout heir teens.

Your parenting at 12-14 determines whether your daughter gets that belly button pierced and subsequently infected on beach trip at 18

I have a 13 year old and he's vastly easier to deal with at this age than at 2-4. Yes, he has a hormonal meltdown from time to time, but for the most part he's a good kid.

Of course he should be going for his Eagle Scout board of review in a few weeks so he's pretty well grounded.

My child is only 6, but I'd have to guess the 12-14. With toddler, they are whiny but you can generally figure them out easy enough, or shut them up with a snack or $1 Hot Wheel.

Teenagers are mean creatures.
