Need help coming up with business idea

So I am very good at finding deals on all kinds of different things such as boats, golf carts, vehicles, lawnmowers, four wheelers, etc.
Usually I will buy it and hold it for a few weeks and turn around and sell it and make a couple of thousand on it. I have been doing this for about 12 years in them now, considering turning this into a more lucrative business.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could pivot this maybe to a rental business or a lease to purchase business with toys?
Or would you just keep on buying and selling and making little chunks at a time?

I would keep doing the buy and sell thing. Renting toys to people will be a headache. Jody and his boys aint letting off the gas til the axles fall off in that big ole mudhole.

Do you know anyone that can make an app for you? Something where people could search for "things" near them to rent. I mean i guess this probably already exists, but could be pinpointed to the types of items you listed.

I would love to be able to rent a boat on the Northshore to take my kids out fishing for a day. When I google, my only options appear NOLA.

Ever thought about selling your talent? Basically a “Deal Consultant” with a finders fee?
Hell, I need to buy 3 vehicles in the next 5 years for my kids, I’d gladly pay someone a reasonable fee to help source solid deals.

Shoot man. That’s not a bad idea. Wonder how I would even market that haha

Probably mostly social media at first, but once some word of mouth begins it could really take off. Bright side is minimal investment on your side.

That's what I would do. You can control how much or little you get involved. If you have a "business," it will require more constant time and attention, even when you might want/need to dial back for vacation, illness, etc.
I knew a guy, now passed away, who loved doing that sort of thing. He would find a bargain on a vehicle, tractor, equipment, etc. and drive across country with a trailer to haul it home, spruce it up, then flip it. He enjoyed the travels, the negotiating, and the tinkering.

I've been gearing up to build a shop on my property and tractor/equipment flipping is one of the things I'm interested in doing with the shop. It'd be a passive job but just something to keep me busy and out of my office and off the couch all evening. Interesting idea.

If you can repair things then renting could make sense. If you have the time to deal with renting and headaches it could make more sense.
As it is you have a profitable side gig with minimal complications and you control the time you put in. Unless renting is going to make you a lot more it doesn’t seem worth it.

I agree. The maintenance/repair headaches and (especially) the insurance and liability would make me shy away from this type of vehicle rental.
