Griffin will figure it out.

History tells us that Griffin normally wins, or breaks even with his past trades. I'm hoping that acquisition of the Pels next center is a player that can run, and guard multiple position. I would rather have this type of player than the lumbering Chicago's Vucevic, or Orlando's Wendell Carter. I know one thing, I want BI traded. If nothing happens with the all in Utah's Markkanen, and nothing happens with Walker Kessler, I would go after Nikola Jovic from the Heat. It's true I have only seen him one in person, but he is a coming player who can guard one through five. Throw in Tyler Herro to make the numbers work, and the Pels will not regret it. Jovic is a poor mans Markkanen. Both of these guys are not your typical centers, but tell me is Porzingis, or Hartford your bullish centers? That's my two cents.

Lonzo for G Temple and Sato
1st rd pick for D Graham and overpaid him
Jrue for 2 late firsts, 2 swaps, Adams, Bledsoe
Pick 4 which was Garland for Hayes and Nickeil (To be fair, Maybe we got Herb Jones in that one too)?
He loses plenty of pure trades and that’s not even the extent of all the moves he has lost in terms of opportunity cost. IE: missing out on Hali (had Jrue as a trade chip before the awful bucks trade) and Sengun by 1 pick in the draft (Houston literally traded nothing to get him), picking Kira over Maxey, trading a 1st for Adams instead of picking board favorite Desmond Bane, etc
He’s made some good moves as well, but the point is, no one should fully trust him. He’s fricked up plenty of times and we have entered 3 out of 5 seasons with pretty major holes. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if we enter this season with a major hole at Center.

quote:He is a homeless man's Markkanen. He cannot guard 1 to 5. Other that being a tall foreign white guy, what are the similarities?

Well, he was good enough to start for the Heat the last six weeks of the season, and he passes my eye test. You must be the same guy that jumped all over my arse for criticizing the Pels for not signing unrestricted Free agent Divincenzo two years ago. I guess time will tell how much a career Jovic has. You didn't mention Herro. I guess he's a chump too. That's all I posted was I prefer Herro, and Jovic for BI, rather than Carter, or Veucic.

Herro is an overpaid ballhog. Jovic certainly has potential, but to say he is a poor man's Markannen is laughable. He may become a solid player one day, but not a full time 5. He did not start at the 5 for six weeks for Miami. He's way too small and not a good defender, at least so far.

Honestly, if you look around the league, most GM’s or VPOBo’s trip over their own dicks from time to time.

Ainge has fricked up through inaction because he wanted too many assets for someone or refused to let them go.
It took Brad Stevens taking over to turn those assets into a ring.

Dude we let Jonas walk when we could have kept him for 10M. That alone tells you all you need to know.

Why pay $10M for a guy Willie refuses to use?

Still on the GM for not hiring a competent coach.

Sure, but if he fires the coach, he's going to lose his own job. So that won't happen. No need double down on mistakes.

Let Jonas walk for 10 a year and he signed Adams to 17 a year, years ago when the cap was smaller. Let that sink in…..
