I do. My parents got the Bicentennial Sprit of America Chevrolet Impala. It was, interestingly enough, released in late 1974.
And they had special quarters.
And they had special quarters.

I was a kid, but I remember the Freedom Train that came to LSU that year.

All of the fire hydrants in my hometown were painted red, white and blue and revolutionary themed.

I saw the freedom train pass from my bedroom window in St. Rose.

I spent my Fourth of July in 1976 in the Superdome at the Star-studded Jerry Jeff Walker Fourth of July Kicker

With my background, I always was going to be a conservative
I mean that's just how I was raised but I do think that being kids in that time when the country was going through what it was going through
I remember talking to Nam vets who said they you know that we had to keep this place going right because otherwise what was their childhood worth
those bastards told horrible stories of what they went through and then treated like shite back in this Country,..
those guys made the best fireworks.....we had bombs

Same here. That movie was spot on. Every character in the movie was similar to someone I hung out with or knew.
What a great soundtrack we had for our lives back then.
