I would see commercials and even caught an episode or 2 by accident. I even enjoyed them, but I didn’t make it appointment television

Watching now on HULU and it’s great. Nothing seems forced and it’s overall a great show.

I’m only into the first season but I am enjoying the weekly “save the random persons life” episodes. It kind of reminds me of X Files in a sense. Monster of the Week episodes and random mythology episodes sprinkled in

Jeffrey Donovan is under rated imho - he was so good in the Sicario films

I watched during its original one and kept watching reruns when it was still on. Great show.

It’s really good as long as they’re in Miami. It loses something when they leave.

Bruce Campbell was a perfect fit for that series.

Donovan, Anwar and Campbell all played off each other perfectly. Sharon Gless was solid in her role as well.

In a lot of ways I think the show was a “spiritual successor” to The Rockford Files and the original Magnum PI.

I was hooked on this show right off the bat.

Then they introduced Bruce Campbell, and holy heck, one of my all time favorites.

Great cast, pacing, writing... it's pure TV comfort viewing.

She was 37-43yo during Burn Notice. Impressive.

I had to move back in with my parents about 2007/2008. I got laid off when the real estate market crashed and then finance and then everything else. Had to give the bank my house because I was upside down less than two years after I bought it and unemployed.

Anyway, as an exchange for a place to stay, I had to take care of my 88 year old grandmother. Nothing major (make sure she took her meds, ate breakfast and lunch, and just hang out). Back then USA was always showing quick reruns of their primetime shows. So, we would watch Burn Notice, White Collar and Monk during the middle of the day. She loved those shows. I did too. One of the few good memories I have with my grandmother. She wasn't the nicest woman at times. She was bipolar and she passed it down to me.

Thanks for reminding me of that time. Let me forgive and reconnect with a woman I hated for a long time.

Honestly, I think one of the reasons my parents insisted that was part of the deal was to force me to mend some bridges with a woman I would not talk to or see for over a decade.

So, yeah, I bonded with my estranged grandmother over a love for modern day Miami Vice.
