Side Hustles

I work a 9-5 job and find myself having 3-4 hours of downtime in the evenings. Does anyone have any good ideas for part time jobs I could do after work that pays well? I can also work on weekends for the most part. Would prefer something I could do at home online but not opposed to other options as well.

Quick/immediate would be door dash/uber.
Waiting tables could make some bank.

If you have any technical skills, you can advertise your services on sites like fiverr.com and upwork.com and get one-off contract work contracts.

I have a side hustle of cutting yards in my neighborhood after my 7-4 job. I'm going to have to give a couple of yards away this week because I can't keep up with just my myself and the limited time I have after work. I bit off more than I could chew and within a month I got 4 new regular yards than I had last year.

A friend of mine teaches and coaches at the high school, then mows yards on the side.
Says he makes more mowing than teaching.

I make about 2k per month recording video ads that people run on facebook instagram, or tik tok. I've you've ever been scrolling through one of those and see what looks like a regular person just recording on their phone at home, it's those.
You don't need a following or to be an influencer to do it. Some people do ask for absurd editing-- I just don't do those. Once you get going you can get 80-100 bucks or more for a 30 second video.

Huge upfront investment, but I could make a full time job out of welding. It's a hobby for me, but I've done quite a bit of smaller structural welding (rebuilt a boat dock, built a small pond dock from scratch, 450 sq ft pavilion, and a 12X24 metal shed), built furniture, built pipe fences and metal picket fences. It's not "easy" money, but I enjoy the design and seeing a project come to fruition. I'm not suggesting you go down this path, but find something you enjoy doing in your home and have at it. Don't be afraid of failing at learning something new.

If you are skilled at anything or an expert on anything and are good at talking and being on video, you could create some informative and interesting YouTube videos and see if you could launch a lucrative YouTube channel. It's very competitive but if you have a specialized skill or hobby and have a great personality (or you are a scantily dressed hot chick) you could build an increasingly profitable YouTube channel.
I was never good at being on video, but I am an expert on primitive survival and survival in general. It was my hobby for several decades. Plus I was very good at search engine optimization so I used to have an extensive survival website for about 15 years and I earned a lot of side hustle money with numerous affiliates. I shut my site down about 5 years ago because it was taking too much of my time to maintain and I wanted to be 100% retired.
Also if you can find a niche for a product that is hard to reproduce, you can make money on eBay and related sites. My wife used to run an extensive eBay business from approximately 2004 to 2010. It was extremely profitable until competition (copy cats) were slowly able to grow and turn the market into competition based on the lowest price. She got out when that happened.
I also have friends that either run or have booths at antique stores. They basically buy "junk" and sell "antiques".
Now that I have been fully retired for years, the only profitable thing that I do is trade Bitcoin volatility by trading Bitcoin derivatives within my IRAs. I'm actually making a lot more doing that than I ever made in my career plus my website.

do you like baseball? If you have the correct mindset, you can make money umpiring and you set your own schedule.
If you live in a city, chances are their are a lot of little league baseball/softball games between April-September you can umpire.

Cutting grass for cash is work, but it’s still good money as a side deal.
The whole Uber/lyft thing has sucked for a while as they have continued to pay less and less.

It's incredibly simple. I use Fiverr. Go to Fiverr.com and search for UGC. I personally go for the adult male UGC genre. There are hundreds of people getting booked for it.
You just set up a gig and wait and within a week someone will hit you up to make a video (if you put any effort into your profile). The first few attempts can be tough because they'll often want to see some kind of sample, but eventually you'll get booked and it goes up from there.

Flipping stuff on ebay like antiquetiger is super easy. You can hit garage sales, estate sales and thrift stores at your convenience. Tons of videos on youtube of people that do it full time and part time. I do very well as my side hustle. Plus something I can do when I retire.

I tried selling something on eBay and it blocked me. Is there some type of cred or rating one has to achieve first before being qualified to sell things of a certain value?

What’s your day job? I’d love to have time (energy) to take this on.
