I've decided that calling physicians "doctor" is quite silly...

... and will no longer participate in the farce.
1. the latin root word, docere, means "teacher."
2. because someone went to school for a long time and passed some exams, I am expected to refer only to them with some honorific title when lots of others like lawyers, ph.d. engineers, physicists, psychologists, etc., who would likewise be "deserving" of an honorific title if it were a matter of schooling but are not.
3. if those at the very top of their professions, such as presidents and CEOs, who have put in years and years of actual hands on work in their field are not deserving of an honorific title, why should i call joe bob cooter , m.d. from texas tech doctor?

Ok.
I’ve decided I may quit sticking my cock in watermelons.

My doc gets called by his last name.
I mainly do it because I can see the muscles in his temples clench when I do it

Maybe you should stop going to doctors in protest. Let us know how that works out

given I went 18 years without going to one, and the conversation went:
"You're fat."
....I know.
"Your blood work is perfect though."
....I know.
"......"
......
"See you in six months."

Lot of physician simps so far in this thread. Can’t wait to see how many more show up.

Wait till you get that doctors bill. Insurance is a sham and doctors charge to much for a 2 minute visit.

Just call them by their first name. It's not really a big deal. If that somehow upsets them (which they won't show it because you're their paying customer and pay their bills, so they wouldn't verbally express to you but would to others), too bad. I call every doctor I visit by their first name. Not gonna give any subset of people special privelege. I treat everyone the same when it comes to title/name.
They can kiss my rod if they do expect me to.

You think Dr Joe Schmo at Ochsner tally’s up that invoice personally and sends it to you?
I’d love to see the physical state of health most of you are in

Are you just mad that your doctor told you you need to lose weight?
Be honest

Just me, but I'd be wary of pissing off someone who has the wherewithal to poke me with sharp instruments.

If you don’t respect them or what they know and do then why the hell do you bother visiting them? Heal yourself.

Does your doctor call you by your first name? Every doctor I see addresses me as Mr. Bowman. My pediatrician was the last MD to call me Dave. And If he calls me Mr., I'm calling him Dr. Anything else would be weird. Gotta give respect to get it.

I just call all DRs Scruffy. And when they respond with "Scruffy doesn't like that" I know I got the right one.

Those are names of functional positions and part of a structured hierarchy of employees.
