How about they tell all the frickwad bitcoin miners and AI developers who have hundreds of computers going at once to just shut their shite down during summer since they are the biggest power suck going?

They don't want you to turn your air up, they just want you to think that they are trying to help your bill

Entergy is a criminal organization and the Louisiana politicians and PSC that enable them are just as culpable. frick them. Cocksuckers asking for a donation after I pay a two hundred dollar bill to still be hot. Assholes of the highest order.

no joke, those big data centers pull megawatts from the grid, not to mention AI data centers that need direct bulk power transmission ties to handle the amount of power they consume, that's similar power draw to large industrial plants

Entergy has multiple huge AI/Data center projects coming online in the next couple of years. The amount of energy they are requiring is astronomical. One project is going to start at 2.5 Gigawatts with an additional 2.5 Gigawatts added on. The need for that much energy for a data center really makes me think T2 and skynet is not that far off

What about when everyone has a 220v EV charger at their house?

I don’t disagree with the sentiment, but bitcoin mining runs on pretty precarious margins and when the wholesale power rate goes up they shut that shite down. They mostly throttle up at night, when power is cheap or to run wind farms and solar at max utilization when they would normally curtail.

Thoughts?
Those are my thoughts.

Where did it ever say it was Entergy?

Entergies executives live in a box and can get fricked

and they are shutting off thousands of MW of traditional synchronous generators in Arkansas in favor of hundreds of MW of grid following solar inverters, all while not doing anything to replace the massive inertia of the decommissioned rotating machines. i have a strong feeling there is going to be a large scale cascading blackout at some point in the next 10 years due to a grid not being able to stabilize during a disturbance

Your house should be a meat locker. If our grid can't support that, then our grid needs work.

Once Entergy does this at all of their offices then we can talk...

Are you ready to pay for it?

It’s actually a terrible idea for Louisiana. Your ac is also pulls humidity out of the air. The humidity can make your home damp. And at 80 degrees inside you are helping mold grow since it grows best between 75-85 in the house.
