why are so many young white people getting tattoos?

It's NOT just one tattoo but like up and down thier bodies like an addiction of some kind.
I am 58 and don't get it...
a lot of attractive people making themselves less attractive... IMHO
people can obviously do what they want with their life and bodies, but what is the psychology behind it?

Young people of all colors have gotten tattoos for ages.

My grandfather had some forearm tattoos he got while in the USMC. He regretted having done that and told me as a young boy to never do that to yourself. I listened and am tat free.

It really is out of control. The worst are the random little patchwork tats, all over, on otherwise cute girls.

My generation didn't do tats... maybe some had thier frat letters at the ankle...tried to be cool and yet hide it...
now we see young women with tats up and down their legs, arms, fingers, neck... nose rings as well...it's disgusting
