Rant- why in the f do drivers on highland road go below the speed limit? The limit is 45mph and drivers go max 40 but typically 35-40. It blocks other drivers from driving the limit.

Don’t be a Karen and say we’ll take another road- be real.
Rant over

Because it's the one truly beautiful road in BR and I don't want to rush through it. If I'm in a hurry I'll go interstate, Perkins, or Burbank.

It drives me crazy. Especially in the afternoon when you have a bunch of old folks trying to coast into the Sammy’s parking lot without touching the gas pedal.

That said, I think a lot of folks don’t realize the speed limit is 45 mph. It actually is 35 mph once you get closer to Lee Dr. (can’t recall where exactly it changes).

It’s one of the better urban drives in the state. I’d put it on par with Ellerbe Road (from Flournoy Lucas to Leonard) in Shreveport for scenery and topography.

One time I was leaving downtown on a Saturday night and realized I was going kinda slow. Thought it would be funny to drive slow with drunk people behind me. When I turned off after almost getting to Bluebonnet there was at least 40+ cars that were following me.

I’ve passed someone on Highland twice this past week. Drives me insane. One was barely even going 30.

This is common on any 2 lane road with a speed limit over 35. Another bad one is Old Jefferson between Highland and Tiger Bend. The speed limit is either 50 or 55 and most people cruise at 40. It drives me nuts.

I've been driving down Highland from Staring lane for work the last 8 years... I leave at 4:50-5:05am I do 60mph... make it to Airline in 7-9 minutes... you can tell the people who don't drive it often all of them due well under 45... Highland doesn't have the best lighting either so that's a issue for drivers... the drive home in the evening takes at a minimum 25 minutes and that's on a good day...

I am fascinated by how much people spend on cars and yet their blood pressure spikes if they have to be in it a second longer than absolutely necessary.

Try getting stuck on highland on campus behind the car-free BR bike brigade hippies on a Friday afternoon before a home football game.

It's only 35mph for a bit east of Lee.
