Before this thread attracts the usual posters to this subject, I want to clarify that I am just sharing this for informational purposes, ONLY.

Argue all you want.

Oh, and YES, it's from Russia, (with love).

quote:

Biden’s NATO expansion rhetoric is to blame, the former US president has said

quote:

Russia’s intervention in Ukraine was triggered by the irresponsible and provocative rhetoric of US President Joe Biden and his administration about Kiev joining NATO, Donald Trump has said.

quote:

“For 20 years, I heard that if Ukraine goes into NATO, it’s a real problem for Russia. I’ve heard that for a long time. And I think that’s really why this war started,” Trump said.

quote:

“I thought that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin may be – well, look, he’s a good negotiator, I thought he was going to be doing that for negotiation purposes,” Trump said. “Then all of a sudden, they attacked, and I said, ‘what’s going on here?’”

According to the former president, one of the key issues was the rhetoric coming out of the White House.

“Biden was saying all of the wrong things. And one of the wrong things he was saying [was] ‘no, Ukraine will go into NATO’,” Trump said.

RT Trump

Could it have been the way Biden said, whatever he said?

quote:

“Peace looks like making sure Russia never, never, never, never occupies Ukraine. That’s what peace looks like. And it doesn’t mean NATO, they are part of NATO,” Biden said, when asked about the endgame in Ukraine.

“It means we have a relationship with them like we do with other countries, where we supply weapons so they can defend themselves in the future,” he added. “But it is not, if you notice, I was the one when–and you guys did report it at TIME–the one that I was saying that I am not prepared to support the NATOization of Ukraine.

quote:

According to Biden, he approved the release of intelligence about the Russian “invasion” of Ukraine “to let the world know we were still in charge. We still know what’s going on.”

“We are, we are the world power,” the 81-year-old Democrat told Time. As proof, he pointed to the June 2021 summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Switzerland, where the Russian leader allegedly said he wanted to see “the Finlandization of NATO.”

“I told him, he’s gonna get not the Finlandization [of NATO but], the NATOization of Finland. And everybody thought, including you guys, thought I was crazy,” Biden said. “And guess what? I did it. I did it. And we’re now the strongest nation.”

In December 2021, Russia sent the US and NATO two draft security treaties, seeking a pledge that Ukraine would never join the US-led bloc, among other things. In January 2022, Washington and Brussels snubbed Moscow’s proposal, insisting that NATO has an “open door” policy not subject to outside veto. The Russian military operation in Ukraine began a month later.

Ridiculous. I guess the invasion and occupation of Crimea was also because of rhetoric?

We provoked this war when we withdrew troops from Afghanistan.

The MIC makes much more money when there is war.

I guess Biden telling Putin this, really cleared things up.

Who seems more rational here?

Biden, We are the "UNITED States", by god.

Putin probably thought this maniac was not a stable counter part.

There was no invasion of Crimea, the mostly ethnic Russians voted to join Russia. The other regions in eastern Ukraine asked Russia to come in after dealing with the US back coup government in Kiev since 2014.

From 2014 until Russia Crossed the border, how much dark money/taxpayer money did the Cia spend to build up the Ukraine military. I bet there is a lot there that Trump never knew about. Didn't they impeach Trump for threatening to withholding military aid?

Russia literally rolled troops in and took the area by force, THEN set up fake elections. That’s the basic definition of an invasion, whether you like it or not.

They impeached him twice and his offenses were so serious, most people, that even follow politics probably could not remember why.

Other than orange man bad.

Or it's a land grab before they had a chance to join NATO, because once in forget about it

Our coup probably had a lot to do with it. Especially since it happened a week after Maidan.

And this story is from the same year. 2014.

The Pompeo statement is a perfect example of how Trump wasn't really in charge.

NATO is on shaky ground. Hungary is not on board and Turkey, the second largest military in the alliance, is leaning towards BRICS, after the EU has given them the finger for 25 years.

IF and/or when the US is attacked, who can we count on to fulfill their obligations.

So Russia Today has an article with Trump parroting Russian propaganda. And you lap it up uncritically. Farking Russia Today!

We elected him to be. If these treasonous bastards took upon themselves to do other than what the CIC wanted, then they committed treason.

No shite. Who wants to be completely encircled by a group that very vocally claims to be your enemy.

We'd beat Canada and Mexico's arse if they ever let an enemy group set up camp at our borders and figuratively point their weapons at us. shite is insane how we try to isolate another country from the rest of the world... and we're getting mad because the other country isn't just going with the flow.

If anything, I think Russia has been too timid. They let nato encroach that much before making a stand. If it was us, I believe our country would've acted the moment one of our neighbors joined an enemy group and worked to isolate us.. our government wouldn't have waited until we were almost completely surrounded by enemies before acting.

I think Russia waiting too long to act has doomed them. Even if they can win in Ukraine and stop them from joining NATO... it won't change the fact that several other countries around them are already in NATO.
