Well when it doesn't pan out how they imagine they'll at least be able to repurpose the building for more housing (after spending who knows how much fixing it)

Wow. Seems like better living than 90% of LA’s residents.

Why would anyone want to leave?

That thing will be the fastest depreciating asset in LA.

Wonder how long before the whole place is determined to have inhumane living conditions by the ACLU?

LA voters overwhelmingly approved of this - 8 years ago.

I wonder how many people will jump or be thrown off those common balconies.

I’ll identify as homeless. I’m sure they will give them money to feel like the rest of LA so they don’t look out of place.

Seriously, I’d understand a suit and help with job interviews, some skill to grow with, rehab to turn their situation around. Giving them somewhere to live nicer than most people who work for a living is pretty ridiculous.

In less than a month, it will smell like booze, stale urine, and be overrun with bedbugs

Probably more like $50k per unit and the other $550k went to bribes, kickbacks, and campaign donations.

Doesn’t sound at all like government fraud.

You could give them each a Boxabl for one-tenth the cost.

That's when some politician's brother-in-law picks it up for pennies on the dollar, slaps a coat of paint on, and flips it for millions.

The tiny homes that Garcetti hooked his buddy up with costs 120k when they really cost 10k

What a genius move
