Not that CNN would ever do anything unethical like give their preferred establishment Dem candidate a heads up on the questions beforehand (lol), but everything about this debate seems like something only Team Red would actually agree to based on how favorable this event setup looks to Team Blue on paper.

Unfriendly anti-Republican network/mods who utterly detest Trump like Tapper, no audience, only 90 minutes total with two commercial breaks, mics that are fully controlled by the mods, ect

Would Dems ever agree to similar concessions/insisting the very first and most important presidential debate not actually being hosted by their own corporate propagandists? I big time doubt it.

I fear/know they will attempt to make the event into a Trump spectacle where he is mostly steered towards talking about 2016/J6 and his recent BS political felony convictions while reserving standard cookie cutter debate questions that Biden’s team might get in advance like Hilary’s team did in 2016 with CNN Presidential debates.

They will mute him the second anytime Trump tries to mention Biden family corruption, creepy Joe showering with his daughter, how the world has sunk towards WW3 under his administration, ect

The debate isn’t going to change any minds on either side. Prove me wrong.

No but it will showcase what we already know. Those who refuse to accept it will continue to refuse to accept it.

Also it will give further evidence of the lack of unbiased MSM and prove once again that the major "News" outlets are merely propaganda arms of the totalitarian government. Again, nothing shocking to most of us and those that turn a blind eye will continue to ignore it as long as it benefits them.

Maybe not.

But the potential for high quality memes is endless.

Probably true, although I think viral moments can sway people out there whenever a candidate nails someone on something. Like how Trump responding to Hillary on tax policy and her email server crimes were hugely helpful moments for him in 2016.

It also might change minds of the overlords at the DNC on who the puppet is for them to trot out on their ticket come November should Biden truly embarrass himself in a debate setting greatly favoring him

Yea debates nowadays are all about viral memorable sound bites and gotcha moments. For better or worse.

I think they can impact the casual voter more closely than many think

A sharp-witted candidate can win any debate, regardless of the network or questioners, if they recognize what will happen, and use their bias against them.

It requires wanting to win more than wanting to get in an insult or defend against some perceived slight.

It might be like that game of Trival Pursuit on Family Guy where Peter got all the children’s questions.

Potatoe Joe gets the easy ones while Trump is bombarded with subjective questions that make him look bad regardless of his answer.

In the spirit of fairness, CNN should get one of those raffle tumblers with all the questions in sealed in envelopes that were stored in mayonnaise jars, just a little Johnny Carson humor. Once the debate starts, the moderators empty the question envelopes into the hopper. The moderators give it a quick spin and pull out a single envelope for each question. You can even show them ripping the envelope to show how fair the question selection is.

If it’s a trap, then Trump only has himself to blame for it.

The truth is the majority of the country will not watch the shite show.

CNN is a damaged product. The country knows this is feeble attempt to showcase the only attribute Joe Biden and the Democrat Party has to offer….how many lies to cover for the worst president in history.

The country knows what existed under Trump and know what exists following three years of hardcore leftism.

Nothing to see from the existing train wreck.

With some pharmaceutical boosters and Corporate Pravda’s friendly guidance and goal-tending, ol’ Joe may well have himself a nice, enjoyable 90 minutes.

But….he also has this putrid, nasty, insane looking thing hovering in the background called his administration’s results. Been baking for 3.5 years now and everyone has been smelling it on a daily basis.

Good luck talking his way into making that look good.

They’ll certainly try to steer the narrative and make this some kind of focused referendum on Trump instead of the guy actually sitting in the White House but it’s gonna take a lot of effort to ignore the reality of Biden’s record.

Biden is so frail that even a gently lobbed softball could knock him out.

The debate is not for people on either side who will never vote for the opposing party.

The debates are more for the people without a side that device the elections.

This is vitally important for biden and for trump.

If they medicate biden up to his barely sentient self, they may do ok because expectations are so low. If they don't medicate him because they want to change or he has a reaction to the meds, well things just got interesting.

Ordinarily, I would agree with the premise that this is a trap. However - in this case, there is the added drama of whether the MSM may be setting up Biden in order to push him off the ticket due to a miserable performance (why else do this debate in June - it is totally out of the normal). I could see them feeding him the wrong answers in advance, and then ask totally different questions. He could never admit he received the questions/answers in advance, would look like he got butchered by Trump and fall further in the polls.

No notes, sitting maybe not standing, no audience, CNN [which Trump destroyed as an organization because of their TDS] who is known for their bias, liberal journalists attack dogs on point, blah , blah ,blah.

Trump should remind the American people of these restrictions... at his opening remarks and his closing. Why would an administration, who is desperately denying Joe's senility, force these demands... why would an open and free press drool over them.

No doubt! That brain death heathen has had the questions for a month and will still frick it up terribly. All of the questions will be designed to attack Trump.

Trump needs to make a TikTok, and every other social medial outlet post, with bullet points showing what they’re going to do and how they’re going to try and corner him. Then being the receipts. People who have had their media suppressed, are waking up. Elon is to thank.

There’s people who don’t like Trump. Wouldn’t vote for him unless…. They see Biden looks and sounds bad enough that someone else will be president.
The VP debate will confirm voting for Biden because Harris would be ok as president or vote for trump begrudgingly because Harris would be even worse.
