Napa/Yountville lodging

I know Napa has been discussed on here at length and I did the best I could do review all the prior posts, but one of the topics that I couldn’t find much info on was lodging.
We are going next year for our 20th anniversary and based on the wineries we will be visiting my wife is leaning towards staying in Yountville but we are willing to consider other locations if there’s a better option.
Given it’s our 20th would be open to pretty much anything in terms of price range if it’s worth the cost. I don’t want to spend money just to spend it but I’m willing to pay for a great venue/experience.
Thanks to all in the prior threads for the winery/restaurant suggestions, using a lot of those to plan the trip.

Estate Yountville is a great hotel and location. It was previously the Hotel Villagio and new ownership has improved it. You can walk to a number of local restaurants. It has a great bar and offers afternoon winetastings in the lobby on certain days during the week.

I don't recall exactly, but from googling / photos, i'm 90% sure we stayed at Hotel Villagio at the Estate Yountville for a "mini-moon" after our wedding.
It was really nice from what I recall. Great little area.

BTW, i'd suggest you give Sonoma a look.

Thanks will definitely consider it. We’ve been to Sonoma for day trips in the past but never stayed the night. Is there a specific hotel there that stands out?

I’ve stayed at Hotel Yountville and really enjoyed it
I’ve also stayed at Maison Fleurie. Enjoyed it also but it’s a tad more rustic

We were at the Fairmont, which is great. Also remember there was a Mexican quick service place across the street where I had the best tacos I’ve ever had.

MacArthur place is the nicest hotel in Sonoma. Wife and I stay there every year.

I've stayed at the Vintage House Estate of Yountville and would highly recommend it. Vintage House
Yountville is a great location and this hotel is almost right across the street from The French Laundry, if you can score a reservation. I would highly recommend it for an anniversary dinner. Really expensive, but worth it at least one time. Check when they release reservations each month and sign on at that time. Also, love Bistro Jeanty in Yountville.
If you need winery recommendations, just let me know or just go to this post: Napa Valley Wineries All of these are very high end, but make a great anniversary trip.

My wife and I have stayed at the Vintage House multiple times. You won’t regret it.

Wine country is one of the few places I would suggest people look at AirBnB.

In Yountville, I would suggest BIstro Jeanty for lunch or dinner. Bouchon and Bottega are also great spots. I wouldn't confine myself to Yountville though. Just a few miles north, you can stop by Oakville Grocery for a great casual lunch spot. Nickel & Nickel is almost next store, so plan a tasting there. We also like Mustard's for lunch and it is close to Yountville (about 2 miles away).
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more recommendations. We go to Napa a lot and will be there again in December (off season).

Bottega is fantastic for dinner. One of the best meals you’ll ever have, and it’s walkable.
R&D Kitchen for lunch. Get Dings chicken sandwich.
Aztecas is a roadside taco stand/grocer about 15 minutes to the north of Yountville. Can’t go wrong with anything on that menu.
Ad Hoc is another Thomas Keller restaurant. It has a nightly tasting menu. Walkable from Vintage House.

You really stepped in it by saying this in Napa.
There are truly some insane costs there

Ciccio
Had legitimately one of my favorite meals ever there.

We stayed at the North Block for our honeymoon. It was really nice.
We ate at Ciccio twice. Amazing food.
We got quite a few tastings comp'd when we mentioned it was our honeymoon. Idk if they still do that though.

The coq au von at Bistro Jeanty is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Get it with the noodles.
