Konnor Griffin, OF: Griffin was the Gatorade National Player of the Year this past season. He stole 87 bases and posted a .559 batting average, leading Jackson Prep in Mississippi to a seventh straight state championship.

Griffin is also the top high school prospect in the 2024 MLB draft — according to MLB.com — and a top-10 player overall in ESPN and The Athletic's rankings. The odds of him making it to LSU are near zero.

Cam Caminiti, LHP: Caminiti, the cousin of former MLB MVP Ken Caminiti, struck out a whopping 119 batters in 52? innings this past spring for Saguaro High in Arizona. He led the Sabercats to a state title and posted a 0.93 ERA.

MLB.com, The Athletic and ESPN rank Caminiti as the top high school left-handed pitcher in the draft. There is almost no chance he ends up at LSU.

William Schmidt, RHP: At Catholic High in Baton Rouge, Schmidt put up a 0.44 ERA and had 102 strikeouts in 63? innings, leading the Bears to a state title.

He's also a top-30 MLB draft prospect in The Athletic, MLB.com and ESPN's rankings. But his close ties with LSU — he attended the regional in Chapel Hill — suggest there's a greater chance of him sticking with the Tigers than Griffin or Caminiti.

Boston Bateman, LHP: Bateman is a 6-foot-7 lefty whose fastball is up to 97 mph and throws a big slider. The California kid and Camarillo High star is a top-50 prospect in the MLB draft, per ESPN, The Athletic and MLB.com.

With LSU potentially losing seven lefties this offseason, Bateman's name is one Tigers fans should closely monitor next month.

Cade Arrambide, C: Arrambide is the top high school catcher in the draft, per MLB.com and The Athletic. The Tomball High prospect won the Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas after blasting 12 homers and 29 extra-base hits.

Hayden Travinski and Alex Milazzo departing opens the door for Arrambide to make an early impact if he comes to LSU, even with Brady Neal projected to return.

Derek Curiel, OF: Curiel is a top-120 MLB draft prospect in MLB.com and ESPN's rankings. The California recruit and Orange Lutheran High center fielder is the No. 10 player in the country, according to Perfect Game.

Kale Fountain, 3B: MLB.com pegged Fountain as a top-125 prospect in the MLB draft in large part because of his power. He broke the Nebraska prep career home runs record in just three seasons at Norris High.

With Tommy White off to MLB, LSU will need Fountain to help fill his shoes.

Casan Evans, RHP: Evans has a fastball that can reach the mid-90s while also playing shortstop for St. Pius X High in Texas. He will attend the MLB draft combine in Arizona from June 18-23.

Mavrick Rizy, RHP: Rizy attended Worcester Academy in Massachusetts and has a fastball that's up to 96 mph. He towers over hitters with his 6-foot-9 frame.

Rizy will also attend the MLB draft combine at Chase Field.

David Hogg II, SS/2B: Hogg is a 6-foot-2 and 180 pound middle infielder who attended Mansfield High in Texas. He has a short and compact swing from the right side and will attend the MLB draft combine in Arizona.

Ryan Costello, 1B: Costello attended Ranney High in New Jersey and has a powerful left-handed swing. He threatened to break Mike Trout's state record for homers in a season (18), hitting 14 in 48 at bats.

Michael Ryan, SS: Ryan is a shortstop who attended Archbishop Rummel High and will be going to the 2024 MLB draft combine. At the plate, he has a quick right-handed swing.

Landon Victorian, RHP: Victorian was expelled from Barbe High in Lake Charles for allegedly showing a pocket knife to his coach during a meeting. His attorney Todd Clemons told KPLC 7 News that Victorian still intends on playing for the Tigers in the fall.

On the field, Victorian has a fastball that reaches 93 mph.

Daniel Arambula, 3B: Arambula attended Yucaipa High in California and played in seven games with the 18 and under USA national team. At the plate, Arambula has a powerful right-handed swing.

Stunner Gonzales, RHP: Gonzales is another bigger pitcher at 6-foot-7 and 200 pounds. He attended La Costa Canyon High in California and has a fastball that's up to 93 mph.

John Pearson, OF: Pearson is the younger brother of LSU veteran outfielder Josh Pearson. But unlike his older brother, John is a right-handed hitter mostly known for his power. He attended West Monroe High.

This whole story is strange...not sure how I feel about it. I'd love to know the whole truth.

Why does your link take you to the "create post" page instead of the article you lifted this from?

Hopefully if Victorian does make it to campus, he shows up looking to put his past behind him and prove it was not indicative of who he is.

If you look at the bottom of page one of the recruiting thread, Victorian was highly rated. I hope it works out for him and us.

Even locally the story kind of went quiet. Both sides have told their side but no one seems to know the whole truth. Very bizarre.

Word around Lake Charles is he is still getting drafted fairly high and will take the pro money.

Just rumors.

I live in LC know several parents of current Barbe players and also members of the Barbe faculty and am still as confused and conflicted as you. Johnson has probably gotten first hand accounts of the incident and if he wants to give him a shot, then I certainly don't have a problem with it. Whatever happened, it's an isolated incident. Victorian is not someone who had been in trouble prior or had anything like this in his past. I've never met him personally but have seen him interact act with some young (10 or so years old) baseball players and he couldn't have been more accommodating to the young kids who wanted to meet him. He came off as a friendly, nice young man.

Was it Cecchini or an assistant coach?

Cecchini Is a players coach but if he didn’t witness it that’s a tough spot.

Amazing nobody on the team has talked.

Volunteer Strength and Conditioning coach. I don't think this person is still the S&C coach for Barbe. I believe he moved on after the incident.

If it’s just one spare coach that’s odd. His word vs Landon

Still amazing Barbe played for the title without him and another stud that was hurt.

Yup. One would think that Jay has talked in depth and has a personal relationship with both sides.

Victorian graduated from Barbe, I saw video of him walking at graduation, so I'm assuming he WASNT expelled
