I say this one..The GOAT'S 1-iron in 1971 on the 219yd par 3 17th at Pebble Beach. What say you, fellas ?

Corey Pavin on 18 in 1995. To get the ball to stop close to the hole on those baked out greens at Shinnecock in such a pressure situation.

Was he playing those God awful Cleveland VAS irons then?

As a Nicklaus fan this one pained me, but it deserves the recognition

Yes but the shot was a 4 wood

Yeah that Tom Watson shot at Pebble was priceless. I bet you ask Justin Rose it was Phil’s shot on 18 at Merion.

Best Phil quote ever.

What did he do on 18 at Merion? Did you mean 18 at Winged Foot when he made double to lose?

Tigers approach on the 72 hole at Torrey Pines to force a playoff.

I believe he used that Cleveland VAS 4 wood on that shot.
Unbelievable how ugly those clubs were.

I rented a set of clubs while playing an impromptu work round and the bag was an awful mish mosh of clubs and there was a VAS U/G wedge in it. I gotta say, I chipped like a mad man with it. Holed 2 and left it stone dead on a lot of holes. I almost asked if it could buy it.

Hale Irwin's putt at 18 in 1990 is another.

Ben Hogan, 1950 US Open at Merion - 1 iron
If your shot doesn't have a plaque in the fairway commemorating it, it doesn't qualify

Saw Tiger's and Watson's plaque on Pebble. Tiger's shot on 6 was ridiculous. Impossible

Bubba's hook sand wedge out of the trees in a playoff to win the Masters.

Come on man you know those were some of the sexiest irons ever produced.

Did I say he hit it in the US Open? I was just pointing out his shot in the Masters.
