Dumb.

He can fail and always return to college. Hey Nick, Hey Harbaugh.

Lakers job is a death sentence right now. You’re a lebron proxy and when he goes the team is a disaster.

Smart move for him to stay away.

He could become a legendary coach at UConn, if he hasn’t already or he could be just another Lakers coach that fails.

It wouldn't be for him.

You know the guy is going to be even more of a douche now that he can say he rejected big money from the Lakers.

I don't know what to think about this. On one hand, he can probably do no wrong with UConn at this point, and would be heavily scrutinized with the Lakers. On the other hand, he would double his salary, and coaching in the NBA is probably much easier than college.

He's just not an idiot

He will get a raise and probably make 7-8 a year in Connecticut instead of making 11 in LA. Oh and ya know, job security.

Or maybe use the Lakers job as leverage to get as big a contract as he can get from UConn.

To some shitty team like Utah or something, yeah. Not to the beast of a program that's he's building.

I'm quite sure he leveraged it for a raise. Not 70 million dollars, but I'm sure he's going to do well.

I think he didn't hear from Lebron's team what he wanted to hear. Lebron likely did not want someone like Hurley as the HC.
