Saw the hit man on Netflix this past weekend with the spouse and thought it was pretty good, He really reminds me of McConaughey with the last couple of romantic coms he’s been putting out. Will probably go watch twisters when it hits theaters as well.

I think he has a decent screen presence, enough to get him in the running for better films. After hearing his interviews and about his conversations with Tom Cruise, I'm guessing he's going to go further with his initiative and work ethic than he would have on talent alone.

I like him as an actor - he has the potential to be the next big star. he just seems likeable - even in Maverick he was likeable, but a doucebag

I like him. He's a likeable guy. He seems to be able to do comedy/lighthearted fare well, as well as the action stuff.

He could be a big star.

He plays the same character in every movie. That works for some guys and doesn't for others. We will see if he can stand the test of time.

He's kind of a poor mans Matthew McConaughey. MM broke out w/ some impressive action and drama roles. GP has yet to do that so the question is can he lead a big budget action flick or shine in a smaller drama (Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective).

Really like him. Think he could become the next star as others said. That will depend on how Twisters does this summer imo. It could do that for him.

I could see a similar career trajectory as Bradley Cooper. In his early 30s, Bradley played a dick in the hit movie Wedding Crashers, then popped up in some rom-coms before gettig his starring breakout in The Hangover, then eventually becoming an A-lister.

In his early 30s, Powell was kind of a dick in the blockbuster Maverick and is currently popping up in rom-coms. Is his starring big break next?

But I do see his acting style being closer to McConaughey. I guess that native Austin drawl makes for an easy comparison. Time will tell if he has the acting range of Cooper or McConaughey.

Is that a euphemism for "join Scientology"?

It's a euphemism for "date women taller than you".

I met one of Cindy Crawford's cousins. She was a fat, unattractive sweathog. We'll see if Matthew McConaughey-lite has a breakout role soon. Alright, alright, alright.
