Im headed to grand isle this weekend and not dragging the boat. Does anyone have any recommendations on bank fishing options for the kids and I? We will try the bridges along LA1 but was wondering if anyone had any other spots they know of?

Saturday seas 1 foot or less
Go to the beach, shouldn’t have to wade out too far. Don’t get on the rocks.

There are spots all along the road in Elmer's WMA leading to the beach. Also, if you pull up google maps, any spot on the south side of LA-1 between Fourchon and Grand Isle where the water looks darker. Also, look along Old Hwy-1 past Moran's and then there is Lance's launch which I believe is marked on google maps. Then there is the pier at Grand Isle and there is a new pier at the public launch in Leeville.

If the waters clean, they’ll be in the surf.

When we were riding the beach last weekend I noticed the first 100 yards are so was chocolate milk but beyond that looked really good. Hopefully the wind will die down and it'll clean up.

Fished on Elmer’s last weekend. Water was not pretty but they were there. Not sure how I would feel about bringing my kids out there though.

The new beach shuttle is awesome though.

Caught some nice trout in the surf last Wednesday, water was clean. Wind picked up Thursday and they weren't as plentiful but still caught a few in the surf. Plastics and live bait. Guy near us wade fishing (we were in a boat) had his limit using a double rig dragging it on the bottom on Wednesday. Shrimp color and green/lemon is what he had tied on.

Fish are thick, I'd hit the rocks in the surf, but I like being in the water vs the bank.

I don't think I will ever drag a boat to GI again, if I want to fish the area I'll launch Myrtle Grove or Empire, a much better boating experience than fighting the crowds.

Hit the surf on Elmers. Plenty of limits on the beaches today, both from wade fishers and boats. Saturday should be even better with light north winds. Good luck baw! ??
