How good is Long Island? Can they beat UNC?

I’m a Long Island fan tonight. Hope they’ll go 18 innings.

Yes they can beat them. It’s baseball. Anything can happen in one game. Will they? Prob not but who knows be more fun to watch it now that’s for sure.

While anything can happen, I predict Carolina will win big. But here's to hope that Long Island can at least give them a temporary scare and NC has to use a few pitchers...

I mean, keeping that right hander out there who primarily only throws fastballs in the low 90s with no movement against this lineup after we already hit 2 bombs in the 8th...

They have a few guys that can hit a little bit, but they have no pitching whatsoever.
On the other hand, you have to wonder if UNC's hitters will struggle with subpar pitching and/or if UNC's pitching falls off the rails. UNC is a pretty well versed team/program, but the defending national champs are in town.

They played in the tournament in 2022. Their scores:
Maryland 23, LIU 2
Wake Forest 10, LIU 4
Their team this year probably isn't as good as that team, and their conference sucks. They are just a notch above the MEAC and SWAC.

They have no pitching. Finished 2nd in their conference. Scrappy Northeastern team, but yeah, I guess anything can happen.

LIU is one of the weakest teams in the field. Comparing them to Coastal Carolina is asinine. They are 14-1 just to win this game. Now anything can happen in baseball but they are expected to roll over.
