Anybody watch? Season finale was last night.

Hands down the funniest female led comedy I've ever watched. They really are a great comic duo.

All three seasons have been a hit imo. They do a nice mix of having Deborah with some old school boomer views but then even it out with annoying traits of Gen Z's with Ava.

***light season 3 spoilers***

This season when Ava said some of the demands she had for her to work for Deborah again was that Deborah couldn't make fun of her physical appearance. So Deborah would text the maid and have the maid read out the text messages, that had me dying.

Damien and Kayla make a great duo too.

Not going to lie, the girl who plays Ava is actually a really good actress. The scene last night in the finale where she confronts Deborah about Deborah lying to her was legit. Very good finale.

It’s a fantastic show. The writing is top notch and I love the chemistry between Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. Probably a little too woke for the people of this board but it’s one of the best comedies on tv right now, if not the best.

Love this show. It's really well written and the Smart/Einbeinder combo is dynamite.

I haven’t caught S3 yet, but it’s on my soon-to-watch list. The first 2 seasons were very good.

For sure. I'm not a fan of the Marcus/gay story line but his character faded to the back a bit this season.

I woke my wife up laughing at the opening scene of the Christmas episode this season when Deborah had all the midgets dressed as elves dancing for her. Ava walks in and just screams NOOOOO!. On one hand you're like let this old rich lady do whatever the hell she wants even if it's paying midgets to dress up for her party and then on the other hand you're like ok that is a little messed up. But I like that it's funny regardless of who's view on life you relate to more.

That lesbian shower sex scene this season was a nice surprise

Yeah I love the show. It flies by with the 2 episodes each week. It’s an easy watch and honestly I thought last week was the finale with the way it ended

Jerry from succession as her sister is so good. Always love to see Jerry

Every episode has a legit LOL scene or joke

Deborah roasting Ava always makes me laugh.

Probably the most underrated and under mentioned show out right now. Top notch comedy, great cast and the season finale last night was fire

The beauty of its wokeness is that the main character is sometimes so insufferably woke, it is its own joke. So it works in that regard.

If you told me to watch a show where nearly every single character is gay, a socio-political feminist, or otherwise checking off some sort of box straight out of a Gen Z film production company's employment application, I'd consider you a heretic.

But dammit, this show is so tightly written and so self-referential of the entertainment industry, it just... works.

Somehow you can look past all of it, still laugh at the (true) comedy bits, and enjoy the overall arc.

I think maybe because those elements aren't really presented as a "woe is me" story, but rather woven into the narrative along with each character's failures and mistakes, and their occasional lack of personal responsibility. In other words, the scripts are consistently really, really well done.

In fact I could tell you a dozen reasons why I shouldn't like this show — but honestly, it's impressively entertaining.

The running joke of her long fingers is pretty great. "omg look at those things, they are like alien fingers."

She told Ava she dresses like Rachel Maddows mechanic

Probably mine too. Almost everything she says is funny.

Talking about finding dirt on the comedian that's going to get late night:

"He's probably a nawty nawty boy. Probably can't even cum without a f**king gun in his mouth"

First of all, thanks to this thread piquing my interest enough to watch the last episode. Episode 8 really pissed me off.

This season jumped the shark a little for me. No way a woman that old is getting the main hosting gig over a younger host, male or female, period.

The plot armor to get the younger host into a serious dramatic movie was just stupid. No way a guy like that is passing up that paycheck.

The struggle session at Berkeley was painful and totally out of character for Deborah. Good comics make fun of those and don’t apologize for their old material.

That being said, I think Hannah Einbender may have finally won herself an Emmy in episode 9. Love how we finally see Ava adulting and getting support from Jimmy to do it. Awesome wrap up going into season 4. The whole episode made me forget about how awful episode 8 was.

Motherfricking Ava !!!

Hell yeah… good for her..

You could see Deborah be pissed then turn to being impressed that she would basically blackmail her way to be head writer

Gonna play in the mud you’re gonna get dirty

What a fantastic season finale .

I disagree simply because that's the direction the show was headed the entire season. I mean the theme of the season was essentially "let's get Deborah late night." Now I agree that that is never happening, but they did at least play it as this is kind of ground breaking and really only a mans game.

Agreed. I was hoping she didn't actually do it. Not trying to sound racist but I'm sorry the middle eastern girl who was no doubt born after 9/11 and after the joke Deborah made was not thrown to the ground in the airport because of one jab Deborah made in the 90's. That was dumb. ANd who cares about the girl with dyslexia, I'm sorry, it's stand up. I'm sure dyslexia really sucks, but don't act like your life is harder because a stand up comic made one joke.

That was my one complaint about this season. Wish she would have stuck to her guns.

I hope so.

Bump. We just found this show last week. Just started Season 3. Great show so far. Wish there were more than 10 episodes per season.
