I’ve said it over and over again.
The U.S. military are making the same mistakes the Nazi made in WW2. Focusing more on creating the new most advance that cost way more to produce, harder to maintain, more complicated to use, and not as durable.
While the Soviet and U.S. at the time cracked out euipment like no tomorrow by being simple but effective.

In a real war with drones, satellites, and ballistic missiles no one does. Much harder to have logistics and bases when you aren’t fighting illiterate goat herders in sandals.

^ this is the correct answer.
Infantry by itself is vulnerable.
Armor by itself is vulnerable.
Cavalry by itself is vulnerable.
Artillery by itself is vulnerable.
But when you have infantry, armor, cavalry, and artillery working together in a cohesive team, you’re going to find success.
Neither the Russians nor Ukrainians have been able to figure out how to pull it off though.

You’re right they’re even more complicated and require even more logistics while also being much heavier which is what Ukraine is complaining about. You think making the tanks more complicated fixes the issue of it being overly engineered?
