When is it acceptable to brag on social media about your kid’s athletic achievements?

Obviously 8 year old baseball tournaments are trashy, but what about 14 year old elite 11 rankings? Or state tournament pics? I say once they start playing high school athletics it is okay. Before then nobody cares.

I don’t have high school kids I’m just wondering if I’m an a-hole for judging all the moms I see posting about their 12 year olds travel team every week.

I agree but at least then I can see it. At least for grandparents and what not

I don’t have kids in high school and never plan to post about anything they do athletically unless you earn a scholarship somewhere or make the Olympics. That’s the level I feel like would warrant it to me personally.

post what you want, who cares what others think?

usually when people are annoyed with others posting stuff like that....its out of insecurity or jealousy. they play it off as other stuff but it boils down to that

you see it on this board all the damn time and have for years upon years

anyone successful is made fun of on here.

It's your kid and your social media account. Brag however you want. Obviously keep it classy and don't be obnoxious, but there is nothing wrong with celebrating good things your kids do.

That being said, I have a "friend" that has a X account where they update their kids weekly performance in 12u travel ball. Don't be that guy.

Y’all use social media wrong. Facebook should only include friends and family that you know.

Unless your kid is in the Olympics or a D1 college nobody outside your family cares.

Is the only way to reach out to the grandparents FB or similar? Call them or send them pictures directly.

I can see it cause I was there. Grandparents get pissed because I don't post them on social media. I just email them pictures, etc..

grandparents and aunts will care about any post about your kids

if you are happy about something and want to share it, share it, who fricking cares if some bitter dude gets annoyed?

I don't seek approval from people on social media regardless of the topic, so I wouldn't ever post about it. If I want to share with someone directly I'll call or text them.

Don’t forget to also post when they win the spelling bee, are president of the book club, or get a perfect score on the ACT.

i get annoyed seeing all the baseball rings on facebook, but at the same time, I will be taking pictures of my kids. The rings may or may not be apart of the pic depending on success I guess lol

I don't know. Facebook is weird to me. The dedication to husbands and wives on anniversaries or birthdays is just people crying for attention and cringe as frick.

"To my wonderful wife on our anniversary..'

Shut up and just tell her in person. Why the need to broadcast it all over Facebook other than narcissism.

The same with bragging about your kid. Just tell the kid how proud you are. Very few people on Facebook GAF your kid made all-district and those people that do care are probably the grandparents who are a phone call away.

I’m the same way personally I think I’ve made less than 10 social media posts across all platforms in my life, 2 were bets I lost to say I was a Bernie sanders and Hillary Clinton supporter and 1 was to promote my fraternity in college, but I’m thinking about if I’m an a-hole when I judge women when scrolling for posting about their kids
