Thinking cartel related

quote:

Officials with the sheriff’s office say the investigation started more than a year ago when narcotics officers made an undercover purchase of a small amount of illegal drugs. The investigation came to an end Tuesday, May 28 when agents enforced warrants on 13 federal indictments for conspiracy to distribute drugs.
During the investigation, narcotics agents found:

17 lbs of meth

5 lbs of cocaine

40 lbs of marijuana

Several thousand fentanyl pills

A former Louisiana Tech football player and his old lady got busted for 14 lbs. of meth in Lafayette last week. Cops tried to report the value as a million.

Sometimes ammunition that's headed to the disposal plant falls out of the truck. Or something like that.

I don’t understand the sudden fentanyl thing. Fentanyl is incredibly potent, right? Like a gram can kill 100 people or something. So what’s with all these drug busts we hear about where thousands of “fentanyl pills” and whatnot are seized? How is that even possible if fentanyl is as deadly as we’re told?

The number of tweakers walking around Lafayette has exploded.

Probably bootleg pills that look like oxycodone but contain (hopefully only) a tiny amount of fentanyl with a bunch of filler material.

I'm all for fentanyl being seized. It's grandstanding by the government, though, when it comes to overexaggerating the amounts.

Unfortunately the cartels factor in a certain percentage of seizures. For every pound that is confiscated, five more get through.
