My girls wanted chili dogs for dinner. I splurged and got all beef weenies. One daughter enjoys them without bun, the other with. The youngest is already watching carbs. I can’t blame her after watching me for 3 years.

I am a huge crunch guy. Crunch adds a texture that cannot be duplicated. Sign my arse up and throw chips on my tube meat sandwich any day.

Today, I went with cool ranch Doritos. It was a simple dog with only mayo, weenie, Hormel no bean chili and chips. It was outstanding. I had 4.

Next time, I may try a sweet crunch like Captain Crunch.

Stay fat, my friends.

I was craving these today while I was out buying groceries for a few days. Making them Tuesday. I changed it up and bought Stagg no bean chili instead of Hormel.

When did chili dogs start identifying as a hotdog? Maybe I’m crazy but a chili dog to me is a bun with chili, no wiener. A hotdog has all 3, bun, chili and wiener.

Where’s the dog?

My nephew calls that a chili bun.

That’s what I’m saying, to me a hotdog has all 3. People call them chili dogs but when I hear that I think of a chili bun, just bun and chili. Maybe it’s a regional thing in Louisiana, even though that’s not something we are generally known for.

This is the most insane thing I have ever read. No way to un-see this, I'll be thinking about it for the rest of my life. You need to reconsider everything you think you know.

I know of two restaurants in my area that if you order chili dogs, you aren’t getting a wiener. Hot dogs = wiener, chili dog/chili bun (which makes more sense) you aren’t getting no wiener.

If ever in the Auburn/Opelika area, go to Mrs. Story's Daiiry Bar in Opelika for one of Mrs. Story's World Famous footlong chili dogs. They are outstanding. The shakes are good too.

I'll need a link to believe this madness exists outside your own head.

I know The Varsity gets a lot of hate, but 2 chili slaw dogs and onion rings is a guilty pleasure of mine.
