Lebron would cry like a bitch if he played in that era.

Damn I hated Laimbeer and the Pistons in those days being a Celts fan. That has a train wreck quality to it, but I'd rather not see people getting mugged like that anymore. I have nostalgia for 70's through 90's NBA, but I enjoy the product in the modern version for what it brings as well.

I don't know if it was better, but I know I used to watch the NBA and have zero interest in it now. I don't know if it's because I've changed or if the league/game changed.

Who cares that Laimbeer’s talentless arse tried to hurt people? Anyone can do that.

Would he even be capable of contributing to a successful NBA team nowadays?

There are a few things that need to be addressed with the rules now that strategy has created so much spacing on the floor but the game back in the day(90s especially) was dogshit.

I’ve been watching hours of 90s basketball lately and it was HORRIBLE. There’s more fake news surrounding that era and Jordan thsn there is in 2024 politics.

He’d most likely look like a much better version of Michael Jordan.

Passing ability of Magic. Size of Laimbeer. Better shooter than Jordan. GOAT longevity.

I would prefer the 90's version of muggings like the Pat Riley coached Knicks and Heat, and the Pacers. That, imo was more like you will earn your shite when you come in the paint vs what the Pistons were doing, which was trying to actually seriously hurt players.

Alabama and Lebron fan. Who's bandwagon are you gonna hop on when Lebron retires? You love Lebron more than I do Aaron Judge.

In the OP's clip there are literally all 10 players on the floor basically standing in the paint

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug

Yes

I won’t watch much basketball outside of the playoffs. Probably gonna be a super casual Magic fan like I am with the Bucs.

I like Lebron ok. I just can’t stand completely braindead takes so I engage in debates with brainwashed MJ fans.

While I absolutely hate Laimbeer, he might surprise you. He was one of the first successful outside shooting big men (I actually just looked and the year of their first title, he led the team in 3 point attempts and shot 36% on them in the playoffs). Had he been grown up in this new era, who knows. Back then nobody cared much if your center had lateral quickness, but a big that can rebound and shoot 3s would have some value I would guess.

Is Bill?

They’re close in height and I’m sure Lebron was heavier than Bill’s 245.

Lebron would abuse those guys.

Worst case is they’re mean to him and throw him down occasionally like they did Bird and the gane would pause while Lebron dried his tears…then he’d continue to dominate those mediocre talents.

A lot of it is survivorship bias as well. We only see highlights from that era, not all the shitty moments.

No. Jordan’s last 3 yr stint with the Bulls he did most of his damage with the jump shot.
