When Democrats force car makers to build electric cars no one wants, those makers are going to raise the prices of the cars people do want in order to offset the losses

That's actually a pretty good point that I hadn't considered. There's no way Ford or GMs costs have gone up 60% in 7 years, although they do put too much mostly useless tech in them these days.

Those 4cyl “turbo” engines on trucks are going to vastly decrease the resale value. Is known they don’t last as long as the 6 or 8 bangers

I don't know of a single mechanic that is excited about working on all the turbos in in the next 5 years. They sure as heck aren't buying them for their personal vehicles.

Adjusted for inflation, household net worth was up just 0.7% through Biden’s first three years. It was up 16% through Trump’s first three years."

A new Tacoma TuRD off road with a 4 cyl and cloth seats stickers just south of $60K.

Middle Class America's infatuation with devoting that much of their income to vehicles is insanity.

The biggest mistake in our nation’s history was the creation of the Federal Reserve. We all became their slaves via the income tax with the Federal Government being the plantation manager.

The next biggest mistake was taking us off the good standard. Look at our country’s financial history from 1970 back and 1971 forward. A lot of societal issues really took off around that time too (divorce, teen pregnancy, violent crimes).

Until Baws figure out a cheap surgery to go from 5’ 4” to 6’ 4” sales of giant trucks and suvs will continue

Twilight of globalization. This is not a left---right thing. Both parties now agree that free trade is a thing of the past. World is fragmenting and the best any president can do is blunt the impacts. We're not going back to 2019.

You can get a used one with 50k miles for almost half that. The problem is people keeping up with the Jones who “need” a new vehicle for status.

You can get a 1yo sr5 for 35k. I’ve leased for the last 4 years, mid size truck for $250 a month. Huge PIA to get the deals done though. About the economy… yea free market doesn't seem to be free marketing

What about boat financing? Don’t people even go way more years with those loans?

Up to 20 years, maybe 25 on certain boats. 10/15/20 are the most common.

New cars and trucks has always been a killer to a budget- good economy or not.

Drive paid off vehicles for longer than you want or would like and get ahead in life.

Never understood people going to work everyday to pay for a fricking vehicle.

A decent uptick in unemployment and this will get ugly very quickly.

This X100. Right now it is just bitchin' amongst us and coworkers about the high cost of groceries, cars, houses, etc. Just wait until the unemployment numbers ramp up. Our nationwide unemployment rate is about 4%. What if we go back to the 10% of the 2008 era?
When the 08 recession hit, I had at least felt some comfort having cash reserves. Now, I'm not so sure. I don't really even trust the dollar much at this point. I'm shocked people still look at our national debt thinking that it doesn't matter. We furked
