Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert was fined $75,000 for rubbing his fingers together in a money-sign gesture directed at the officials during Game 4 of the Wolves' second-round series with the Denver Nuggets, the league announced Tuesday.
Joe Dumars, an executive vice president and head of basketball operations for the NBA, deemed Gobert's actions an "unprofessional gesture that questions the integrity of the league and its game officials" and also said in a statement that the fine "takes into account Gobert's history of improper conduct toward game officials."
Gobert was fined $100,000 earlier this season for making a similar gesture toward referee Scott Foster.

Pepperidge Farm remembers when the whole world collectively shite its pants because this retard touched a bunch of microphones at a press conference.

I question the integrity of the league and its game officials for not issuing a technical and suspending Jamal Murray for throwing objects onto the court in Game 2.

By this logic, the penalty of throwing items at the ref and onto the court during active pay is a lesser penalty than the money sign. Gobert was already fined for this gesture to the same ref earlier this year. This is an abhorrent derilection of duty by the NBA with compeltely absurd fines.

Murray also did a money signs gesture to a ref in addition to the other items of throwing a towel at ref and a heating pad onto the court during live action.

Considering some past referee controversies, I wouldn’t be drawing attention to this if I were the league.

Sounds dumb but this is the same league where Tim Duncan got tossed out of a game for laughing while sitting on the bench.

Jamal Murray is lucky someone didn’t slip and tear something.
That is what the main issue is - the action vs. the result. Had KAT torn his knee up, I would bet the mortgage a suspension would have happened. Had he actually hit the ref with the towel, a suspenion would have happened.

Only reason he didn’t get suspended was because it’s the playoffs and his team was down 0-2. If it were 2-0 at the time he probably would miss game 3.
Silver wasn’t going to risk letting the series get out of hand by sitting a key player in a crucial game.
