Doesn't say much about the Big 10
Who are they recruiting exactly?

the middle school club gymnastics team is probably good enough to win the women's NCAA gymnastics championship

Then again T&F is 12.6 to spread over 35-40 guys, so I guess it's not all that surprising to see a HS team in any number of states with better athletes.

THis may be true, but Big 10 Track is weak and has to focus on its inherit base. There isn't much speed in white people country so they hit harder the middle distance and distance and the field events. They cannot compete with the ACC and SEC in sprints. With only so many scholarships, they don't have a need to put too scholarship money in events they won't compete well in anyway.

I am surprised Iowa and Nebraska are the top two in the Big Ten instead of an Ohio State Penn State Maryland or Michigan

I noticed that first as well!

I like how you’re inferring the Big 10 is actually strong at track and field
I don’t recall the last big 10 program ive heard about at indoor or outdoor winning a national championship.
USC will help their reputation a good bit.
ETA: completely slipped my mind Oregon is going to the Big 10 also. They’ll sweep everything

It is though…
But let’s be honest this high school probably isn’t your average high school…

I mean the big 10 kinda sucks at track outside of some field events and distance. And even then only a couple programs even care about that.
By comparison that would’ve been 6th at SEC’s. Which is still insane

NCAA winning time is almost always 38.xx. 38 low is incredibly good and usually wins. Anything under 39 is probably top 10.
