“Due” has nothing to do with it. The Sunday pitching is virtually nonexistent.

Probably safe to say we are a spoiled fan base…

No, no we aren’t. We are a fan base that expects a winning championship contending baseball program.

Being preseason ranked #2 and defending national champions and not making a regional, which leads fans to being extremely disappointed is not spoiled.

This season has been a total clusterfrick. Nothing about this season should be satisfying to any LSU fan. If you aren’t extremely disappointed then you have bottom of the barrel, ultra low standards and expectations.

They're not winning the tournament with this pitching staff.

See Im being optimistic about this weekend because thats actually realistic. Winning the tourney is not. Would love to know the last time an SEC team who was on the outside looking in won the SEC tournament to punch their ticket.

What is their RPI right now and what will it be if we sweep Ole Miss?

It’s the 13 wins that’s the problem. Plus they play Ole Miss at home. So the RPI is not going to change dramatically. Ole Miss beating Texas A&M twice and possibly sweeping them will hurt LSU more than helping them. LSU was relying on teams like Texas A&M to take care of business for conference positioning. With all of those teams bunched up within a game of each other, it became critical to beat them on the road to help the RPI. Prior to the Bama game it was 33. 13 wins and 30 RPI is not going to help. Ole Miss and Bama have higher RPI’s and now Bama has to head to head series win.

If Texas A&M had taken care of Ole Miss, the head to head would be less critical. This is really about making the conference tournament now.

This team is immature and doo doo. Better to close the chapter now and regroup.

Please post whether you think LSU will make the postseason or not. I say we sweep Ole Miss and we are in.

I hope so and have not given up yet.

If we Sweep Ole Miss, I say yes.

If we win the series I would say we have to win 2 in Hoover though maybe 1 gets us in.

I think the committee will take a close enough LSU. I think they may feel the need to try to help avoid the stigma of 3 consecutive national champions not even making the postseason. Or maybe that's wishful thinking, I am a sunshine pumper after all.

I dunno if they make the postseason or not but It’s nice not having to watch an LSU game that my wife recorded and mailed to me overseas. So for that I will continue to enjoy watching this team as frustrating as it may be. I’ll keep watching even when they say we don’t have a chance. We are about to enter into 3 months of nothing LSU.

Plus I was raised not to be a fair weather bitch.

They did pretty damn good today. ANY of us would have placed money on the tigers if we knew we’d only give up 4 runs facing Hess in Sunday.

Don’t know if we sweep but if Florida and vandy are in I like our chances on Sunday next weekend. Both have big road series.

Those series are going to be important for us too.

Our RPI is mid-30s now. Barring an unexpected run in Hoover only surefire way we’re getting into a regional is if LSU sweeps Ole Miss, Kentucky sweeps Vanderbilt and Florida loses series at Georgia.

OM RPI is #22 and Vandy and UF are #27-28 in RPI. We’d probably jump all 3 in RPI and in the SEC standings too
