I never said people won’t cheer for the other race. So I’m not sure what rebuttal you are trying to make

That poster seems to enjoy taking the stance of the village idiot in threads.

Sorry, her premise of one of the reasons whites latching on due to her being white is correct, the rest of it is liberal nonsense race baiting crap
The media makes it completely ok for black peoples to have pride and cheer for their own. You are only a villain for doing so if you are white

And I 100% agree with that part of the statement. And you know what? There is nothing wrong with that. It’s absolutely completely fine for white people to be proud a white woman is having success in a sport they are the minority in.
The media celebrates when the black public supports a black athlete, and they celebrate the race angle.
It only becomes the villain angle if white people do it

Do we know that Clark fans are only white? I don’t even know how you quantify what she is claiming. Are they taking surveys at each of her games and Clark’s games to compare?

I wouldn’t put Bird in the conversation. Some of the black players hated him because of his trash talk but all respect him because he always backed it up. He felt disrespected when a white dude guarded him.
It’s fun to listen to the clips on YouTube of the players talking about him, some said he was the best player they ever faced.

Absolutely Lamar Jackson and Mike Vicks huge support from the black community is due in part because of race, same for bird and now Clark. That isn’t saying those of the other race don’t also cheer for them, but then being huge success in areas their race isn’t traditionally so is a major part of the appeal
Let me guess you also think the Cooper Dejean angle and support has nothing to do with being a white CB
The race card and such has been abused so much that one side is now afraid to ever admit race plays a party in anything, and the other side says race is everything always

What kind of “buzz” does this Wilson chick bring to the game????

quote:At least he didn't say LSU coach Kim Mulkey is a racist homophobic who would not "support" one of her former gay, dope smoking, black players in this article. Instead he makes out like LSU represents "Black America". Him mentioning "social media" is a continuation of people in the media thinking what is said on twitter is reality. It's not now, and it wasn't before Elon Musk bought it. It's a small percentage of people, many of whom will say anything to help spread their ideas.
At Iowa, Clark’s on-court rival in the NCAA Tournament was former LSU star Angel Reese. Then she took on women’s juggernaut South Carolina and coach Dawn Staley. The matchups created the kind of made-for-social media moments that captivated audiences, regardless of gender. The matchups also led to ongoing discussions about how race plays a factor in the treatment afforded to Clark, a white woman from “America’s Heartland,” as compared to Black counterparts like Reese.

I routinely cheer for white Europeans over black Americans in tennis, but it's mostly bc the black female Americans are whiny or woke or both.

“I think it’s a huge thing. I think a lot of people may say it’s not about Black and white, but to me, it is,” Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson said when asked about the race element in Clark’s popularity and before she recently signed two major endorsement deals. “It really is because you can be top notch at what you are as a Black woman, but yet maybe that’s something that people don’t want to see. “They don’t see it as marketable, so it doesn’t matter how hard I work. It doesn’t matter what we all do as Black women, we’re still going to be swept underneath the rug. That’s why it boils my blood when people say it’s not about race because it is.”
STFU. The newest draft class hasn’t been in the WNBA a hot second and it’s already become about nothing more than race. To be fair, it was already about race before the draft even took place when it comes to some sports personalities, podcasters, or people that work for major networks but only say what they really feel on podcasts.
You would think a once struggling product (WNBA) that wouldn’t even exist without the NBA would tell people to STFU about race, or any other so-called micro aggressions since it’s finally gained popularity and become mainstream.
