You can most likely see them again tonight if you look north away from city lights between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.," WWL Louisiana Meteorologist Alexa Trischler said Saturday morning. "However, there will be more clouds moving in late tonight which could impact the viewing."

Think we could see anything in SWLA?

MID LAT AUR = Auroral activity 60° to 30°N.
A lot of factors I don't understand, but the solar winds are very high and the K factor is an 8 so that puts the aurora activity somewhere around 40-45 deg latitude.
Houston is about 30deg. The 45deg divides the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

In typical Chad Lavalais country fashion, we had a blue sky day until a bunch of gay arse clouds moved in during tEvening hours

Always.
Jesus could come back and the cloudy skies would prevent South Louisiana residents from seeing it.

Last night in the northern sky, to the eyes, it was a noticeable red glow with hints of green. The iPhone camera of course really brought out the colors. I don’t care. It’s probably a once, maybe twice in a lifetime event in southeast Louisiana. I’ll take what I can get. If you told me yesterday morning “you’re going to stand in your front yard tonight and see the northern lights” I’d have asked you what kind of shite you’ve been smoking.
To my knowledge, thus far, no significant negative impact has come from this. It’s kind of nice to have a relatively unexpected, world-wide natural event occur that everyone can enjoy (weather permitting). So many pictures from around the world. We kind of needed a shot in the arm like this. Too much negative shite in the world. Just enjoy a little positive while we can.

Cloud coverage will increase across the southern two-thirds of Alabama tonight -- especially after midnight. For potential northern lights viewing I recommend venturing out earlier. #ALwx

At least this wasn’t a Carrington level event or maybe our primitive technologies back then were ill equipped to handle such an event.
Now my question for the Space weather nerds what does that mean for the upcoming hurricane season. Should we buckle up? One of the last events of this scale was in 2005, should I start moving and evacuating from SELA.

This has the chance to have a whole lot of people getting really conflicted on their James Webb Space Telescope hate.
