What do you usually pay for an oil change?
I just had my jeep gladiator’s oil changed and a tire rotation at a jeep dealer for $112.
Stealership wins again
Won’t be going back after my warranty ends. First 3 oil changes were free luckily

$100 is about right for a dealership
Just expect they will find all kinds of crap wrong with your car that needs fixing and be able to tell them to shove it

Even a quick-lube joint with 6qts of full synthetic and a basic filter can easily reach $80+

$112 for both is just a time and resources calc for them. Actually seems almost reasonable given the hour spent and maybe 2 guys. Sure, you could have it done for less but one of the jobs is you choosing which one to do in your own driveway.

Depends on what you’re driving I guess. Pretty simple shite if you dont have ovaries

I get the Lexus done at a Toyota dealership for $80-100.
The Mercedes gets done at the Mercedes dealership (free drinks, snacks, and fresh-baked cookies and muffins!). Schedule A service is about $350 and Schedule B (every other year) is $700.

i get a lot of flak at the office but I change out 8 quarts in my truck for right at $50.00, filter included.
the hardest part is the disposing, but I have a catch pan and everything for quick oil changes. Takes like 20-25 minutes start to finish
coworker gets the same model truck done for $129.00 at Jiffy down the road from our office
to each his own

Getting that done at the dealer not smart. Should be less than $50 at pretty much any Firestone/Goodyear type place. Just gotta google a coupon

For real. And dealerships are slow.

Its gonna be about $55 for conventional or $85 for synthetic but you will have to argue for them to use conventional. The more expensive option will always be their default choice.

Im with you on that. Maybe if i only put a couple thousand miles on my vehicle a year , I'd change my own oil. The amount of miles i drive, no way im doing it myself.

Less than $40 at WalMart.

Places around here are all over $100 for synthetic. I did it myself last time, but I didn't come out that far ahead because while capacity was stated as 6 quarts, it took damn near 7 to reach the level. Those 5 quart combo deals at Advance and such for ~$40 are nice, until you add 2 single quarts for another $13 each.

I took my car to the neighborhood mechanic... His prices have always been decent. He did some brake work and I asked to do an oil change while he had it.. His prices went up.. He charged me $90 to do an oil change.. He did the back brakes...New rotors and pads and one of the calipers went bad and that brake job was $700.
I don't drive this car much and the last time I had it changed it cost around $50 at speedy.

O'Reillys will take your old oil for free. It is reused, after a little clean up, for ships. Apparently ship engines are ok with it's use.

I was trying to save time and took mine to Firestone to get done while I got a new tire, they quoted me more than double that. Nevermind. I can do it myself.

I started paying $150 for 7 qt synthetic plus tire rotation. Now I change it myself. It’s about $50 for top tier synthetic plus filter from Walmart or Amazon. Both deliver to my house. Takes 20 mins. I bring the oil 2x a year to Reilly to dump.

Autozone took about 20 quarts of mine with a smile last week.

Local shop used to run about $50 three years ago but has continued a steep rise. Nice and friendly. Took long enough to get a Margarita and lunch across the street. Last week it was $104. I’ll be changing my own again.
