Time to hand the kids some buckets and run em out in afternoon traffic.

Why are they called "coaches" at the HS / college baseball level and "manangers" at the professional level?

submitting multiple invoices for reimbursement on equipment that he purchased for the baseball program. The total amount that was reimbursed was over 29K.
At the end of the season, Walker High conducted an equipment inventory which led to the discovery that the equipment he bought never existed.

Any relation to Rocky?

Should’ve coached travel ball where stealing that much is considered a donation.

Ok, I can see this but I figured it was going to be about trips to pound town with the team “statistician”, which tends to be about a 14-15 year old girl at a lot of schools.

After determining the invoices were fraudulent the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested him for violation of felony theft and access of 25K.
In excess of?

I know Walker is a big school but submitting 29k in invoices didn’t peak some interest somewhere? I mean, we aren’t talking about buckets of balls and striping paint here.

When you’re caught stealing you’re out. He knows the rules.

This isn’t that bad. It’s not like he twerked on camera.

What an idiot. One of the easiest frauds to corroborate. Must have been sweating bullets when that audit happened.

I guess receiving as part of the accounting process hasn't quite made it to Walker yet.

Let's withhold judgement. I had something similar happen to me. I was raising money to build a new Little League field. I had five gallon buckets in businesses all around town.
Well, the DA had it in for me cause I had a shady past, and she knew I was in witness protection. She arrested me for fraud, alleging that I had no intent of building the baseball field, and indicted me under my real name. She knew that would alert my east coast mafia connections to my location. Two hitmen show up at my arraignment, but luckily my FBI handler, and hot red head cop girlfriend were able to get me out the courtroom. I hop in my girlfriends truck, lead the hitmen on a car chase around town, which ends at the construction site of ... THE LITTLE LEAGUE field I was building,
I'm guessing the coach really did buy the equipment, but is hiding it because he didnt want to ruin the surprise for the team.

How many bats, balls, and gloves can 29k get you?

The guy was kinda a douche in high school. Nobody liked him at other schools.

So the AD hired his son as the pitching coach prior to hiring the head coach. What could go wrong right? The pitching coach and head coach did not see eye to eye. The head coach accused the pitching coach of giving away signs to an opposing team. The pitching coach was removed from the team but allowed to continue to teach…..
This is when they started digging……
What really sucks is the team is loaded next year and has some serious studs. Whoever gets that job is inheriting a really good team.
