I'll take 4 years of VP Vivek to evaluate him for 2028.
Your GOPe has given us "experience" for over 30 years, are we better off for it?

The only way Trump would agree to do this is if he's scared at how far gone the country is and feels like he needs a strong VP (or if Trump is feeling like hes slowing down and wants to delegate way more than his first term).
Trump is just too Alpha to do this imo. Hope I'm wrong bc I'd love to see it.

If the VP doesn't get to 270, he could be stuck with whoever the Senate gives him out of the top three VP candidates.
The point is, who says that’s even applicable under the CURRENT framework of selecting electors? It’s basically nonsensical under the current framework where there is no consideration of separating electors for President and Vice President, or any way to even effectively do so. The referenced provision here was to apply to a completely different framework.
Either way, it would be easy to declare someplace other than Florida as Trump’s home, so it’s nothing but a silly academic discussion.

You've done it now.

quote:Hilarious. Suddenly Desantis is needed to carry Trump across the finish line, but he wasn’t good enough to be the nominee.
For no other reason, than this ticket gives the GOP ticket the best chance at winning.
quote:This narrative is as silly as it is pervasive. Ask yourself… Why wouldn’t the “presumption” apply to Mike Pence?
Furthermore, this easily sets DeSantis up as the de facto 2028 canidate.
Even if Trump wins… after another isht show term, anything associated with Trump will be tainted. Just like it was in 2020, and 2022.
More likely Trump loses. And there’s no political capital to be gained from being on a losing ticket. Ask Tim Kaine.
Theres nothing to be gained personally, nor in service to the country since the VP is mostly ceremonial.

No he wouldn’t.
But it would force reasonable Trump fans to admit a bunch of lies after supporting Trumps choice of Ron if that happens.
It’s not happening though in my opinion.
Ron wouldn’t consider it. That’s probably already been made clear between the two.

I'm amazed that people are still clinging to the two party system after what we've seen, especially since the midterms. The two parties have moved in lock step.
You’re of course 100% right in your thinking. But at the end of the day, there’s not an electoral majority that think the way you do. So, in the meantime, you pick the lesser of the evils and work incrementally towards your vision. That’s how the socialism has permeated the left and made substantial gains… incrementally, over decades, starting in education, moving into the burocracy, and finally shaping the platform.
There is not a short-term, America-First-pure solution in 2024 in any branch of government. I admire your idealism, but it’s not going to win.
Let’s take Mike Johnson to start.. let’s say you get your way and he’s tossed. Who is your replacement candidate that CAN WIN a speaker election given the make up of the house? There isn’t one. And even if there was, they would also have to make deals to get things done. And you’d end up hating them too.

Here’s what would happen. The clapping seal contingent (CSC henceforth) would just deny ever telling those lies. Magically not of it would have ever happened.
When showed a quote of them spreading those lies they would say it’s not what they meant or just hide from their lies by ignoring truth.
That’s the CSC way.

That’s true. And another reason why Ron wouldn’t accept. He’d have to give up on principles that he would not give up on.
The accusation of being a sexual predator was a bridge too far anyway. Especially from someone like Trump.
I’d be very disappointed in Ron if he accepted.

I wouldn't be anything of the sort. I'd be happy for Desantis.

Yep. Yesterday as well.
All their excitement about Ron being the VP after spreading idiotic lies about him is just plain sad.
